The views are absolutely amazing!! Loved the Mural Room and the Blue Heron balcony. The Mural Room was true fine dining with floor to ceiling windows. The Blue Heron is great for dining al fresco and for cocktails outside before dinner.
Stayed on June 2nd, 2017.
Walk up the stairs from the lobby and you'll see why everyone is gushing about the wonderful views. There is quite simply no better place to view the mountains.
Overall, the rooms are authentic/rustic but pleasant. No TVs, not that...More
We did not know what to expect for the price we were charged knowing it is a federal government controlled location. We were told the rooms were refurbished 5-6 years ago they rather felt like the 50's.
We did fine without TV but the furniture...More
Nor near the lake. Nor walkable to the lake. Rooms look rather like barracks built during the war. The great room is fabulous -- view is wonderful and you can see wildlife (moose for us) right out the huge windows. But you are rather trapped...More
We stayed here midweek for excursions in the area. Was not a bad drive to Yellowstone National Park for day trips. The views from the back deck of the main building/lodge/restraurants and shops was special. Most of the time the mountains were in full view...More

We were there with an organization who had a group rate of $247 plus taxes. There are no views in the Classic Cabins which is where we stayed. If you want a view, ask to be in the newer part which is next to the main lodge where the restaurants and shops are located. I would definitely recommend that you make reservations if you want to eat breakfast or dinner in the Mural Room. While we were there in the middle of June there were times when they were booked solid. I would make reservations sooner rather than later since August is high season at Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks especially if you want a room with a view.
