This lodge was part of our Grand Canyon Railway package. Had the description been more accurate, I would have paid extra to stay at El Tovar. The Maswik is very rustic, outdated and rooms are located in various out buildings scattered throughout the property. It was quite a walk from the main "lobby" to the lodge our room was in....

This was way better than expected from the photos! The hotel is made up of lodges spaced over quite an area. We were lucky and were in the one nearest the rim, just a hop and a skip. Whilst not luxurious, the room was spacious and comfortable, with an efficient heating/cooling unit (nights were chilly!). The downside of Maswik is...

The arrangement of the hotel with various buildings of 2 floors apartments are interesting, but the rooms are old, not very clean and poorly planned . In my room, the air conditioning unit was located right next to the headboard, which is absurd . I had to improvise a barrier against the flow of air. The balcony overlooking a beautiful...

First of all, the location is wonderful because it is in the park, but the property itself is quite spread out. So depending on which building you are in, you may have a longer walk than expected to the bus stops. I was in building 6 in the main complex, which was not as accessible when you are lugging all...

The room was clean but old. A little rundown, but close to the bus. The staff was very helpful and very nice. The food at the lodge was average. I would come back just because of the location on the rim and very quiet.

Had one night in the lodge, great location within walking distance of the Grand Canyon, perfect for seeing the sunset and sunrise. The room was basic but clean and comfortable . The facilities within Maswik Lodge was okay, restaurants catered for all tastes.

The place is a little run down but you don't spend much time in the room. It was clean and the staff was helpful. It is worth every penny to stay at the park. Being able to walk out to the rim and watch sunrise or sunset is amazing! Do watch out for the wildlife! The moose appear tame because...

Having stayed in a number of National Park properties, we were very pleased with the lodging. No view, but with the Canyon rim a short walk away, we wanted a clean, comfortable bed and a good strong shower. We got what we wanted and considering the turnover and visiting impact on this property, we were pleased.

The location is excellent and that's what you are paying for, you are right there to walk to the rim for sunrise which is not to miss. there are really no other options but park hotels if you want to be close to the rim. The rooms are basic but spacious would be ideal and a cheap option for a...

The Maswik Lodge is actually a series of several small buildings. The concept affords more privacy and less noise then large hotels. Our room was old but well maintained and clean. The beds were comfortable. We had some deer walk up to our sliding glass door. A restaurant with a wide variety of items is a short walk away. The...
