Location, location, location ... it is not a 5 star hotel, but you are in the park with a 5-10 minute walk (depending on your pace) to the rim. It is real nice to be in the park early morning and in the evening when the crowds have left. Food court has limited options, but what we did order was all decent quality. El Tovar dining room is the high end dining at the south rim, but reserve that ahead of time if you want to eat there. We thought that the bed, bathroom. ... were all good. I would stay there again.

I agree with previous reviews regarding Maswik Lodge. It’s not brand new so has dated features, etc. HOWEVER, if you’re planning more than a day stay at Grand Canyon, it’s PERFECT! We stayed 3 nights as we planned full day hikes and sightseeing. Loved parking the car outside our room and not having to drive. The park is so busy that visitors are fighting for parking near the rim and the shuttle buses are very crowded due to Covid restrictions. We avoided all that at Maswik so I highly recommend it if you want a few days there. My biggest drawback was the mediocre food at Maswik food court, so go to the nearby Marketplace which has more choices inc made to order pizza.

We had a room with two double beds. The good … parking right outside our room, sliding glass door to a patio with seating. A family of deer wandered through one evening. The shower has decent pressure. You’re right in the park. The bus system is fantastic. The bad … I think the carpet is very old - our feet got dirty walking on it, the beds are very uncomfortable (hard), the walls are paper thin (we could hear any talking beside us, when they showered and, one morning, the guy beside us was in the shower when his alarm went off - it woke us up and was going off for at least ten minutes before he finally turned it off), there’s a restaurant at the Maswick but there were no gluten free options so we didn’t eat there. As I said, a 2 star hotel for a 5 star price but you can’t beat being on the park grounds so close to the rim. I had a hard time with eating because of the lack of Gluten Free options but "normal" people should be fine.

I stayed at the Maswik Lodge as part of my Grand Canyon railway package. My room was in the Pinyon Pine building on the 2nd floor. The room wasn't fancy, but it was large with fridge, table & 2 chairs, small safe, and large closet area. The best thing for me...a ceiling fan! Loved this feature! I was able to handwash items in the sink then hang to dry. They dried in no time with the fan going! Also, the bed was probably the best hotel bed I've ever slept on. The food court selections at Maswik are limited due to Covid, but the food and service were great. Check in was smooth, and there us a small gift shop in the building with several selections to choose from. I'd definitely stay here again!

Check in was easy and the desk clerk was very pleasant when answering our questions. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but workable. I don't care for the wall mounted pump dispensers for soap and shampoo (but many hotels have gone this route). This is a well maintained but older facility but location is excellent. We drove to several viewpoints since we wanted to control how long we would stay at each location. The shuttle buses do have an advantage over driving your vehicle since they drop off much closer to the viewpoints than the parking areas for cars. The food choices at the cafeteria are not great but are filing and hot. The coffee is excellent.
