After a day of hiking in the sun and getting to the bottom of the Grand Canyon what a great greeting we got in the form of air conditioning! It was only 101F but the bunk rooms are air conditioned as well as the area you check in and eat. The food is okay but we did not visit this...

Didn't stay at Phantom Ranch, but camped out at Bright Angel Campground, which is 50m away. Had dinner at Phantom Ranch, though. My husband and I hiked from the North Rim to the South. The day we arrived at Phantom, we had come from Cottonwood, which is about 6.1 miles away. We quite tired from having hiked down the North...

The hike and mule ride down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon are both amazing experiences. When arriving at Phantom Ranch, you are greeted by very kind people that work very hard to enhance this experience. The food is very good. Travelers must remember that all the food and supplies are brought down everyday by the mules. The accommodations...

People working were so friendly, there was A/C in the room, food tasted great, ranger talk was great. We lucked out with a cabin, which also had its own sink and toilet. I probably will never get to go back, but it was great.

Went down there with a friend (by foot - to be specific) , spending a day at the camp ground and a day in one of the cabins at the phantom ranch. Having had some rainy days, we were really lucky with the weather and it was sunny and hot, really hot. The first day after arrival we just did...

Ahh what A great retreat after a long hike! Departed the south rim, Hiked down the south kaibab trail of the Grand Canyon. From rim to phantom ranch it's just over 7 miles. First glimpse of the ranch and river was a welcome site. :) when we first arrived at phantom we went into the canteen and bought a cold...

Great trip....down the South Kaibob Trail, overnight at Phantom Ranch, back up Bright Angel on the way out. Must Do's - attend one of Ranger Marty's talks (National Park Trivia was awesome), go and sit in the cool creek that runs past Phantom Ranch, experience the camaraderie of the dining hall and have a cold Lemonade or Beer (and sit...

I can't say enough good things about the people, the facilities, and the food at Phantom Ranch. Yes, we were dog dead tired so almost anything might seem to be a comfort, but after we had a couple beers and took a shower, reality set in, and Phantom Ranch rates 5 stars, 5 diamonds, and an A+. We stayed in...

The ranch offers rather basic lodging, but of course, and needless to say, it's the environment that makes your day. The descend took us somewhat more than 5 hours at temperatures increasing to a solid 108F when we reached the ranch. Never ever a cold glass of water (which we could grab immediately upon arrival) tasted that well!! After some...
