Arrived early for a 5 day stay at Rising Sun Campground in August. There by 8:30AM and able to pick an excellent site. Quiet, surrounded by trees. Showers nearby behind the General Store. Token provided plenty of water time. Shuttle stop also at the General Store. Short drive to the St Mary's Visitor Center for free Wifi; otherwise had to... More

Very nice campground with running potable water, flush toilets, and showers (purchase tokens for $2.50 for 8min at camp store). The rangers were really nice and helpful. This campground is first come first serve only, and they recommend nothing over 25ft. The campsites for the most part were quite large and relatively private. There is a restaurant/motel and campstore just... More

We absolutely loved Rising Sun Campground, end of July 2016. We had spent one night out of two that we had reserved at Saint Mary's Campground then made three trips back in one day to find a spot at the first-come-first serve campground, Rising Sun Campground. The Camp Hosts, Rita and Phil, were super helpful and very friendly and welcoming.... More

We stayed at this campground for 3 nights in mid-July. We arrived early, and were lucky enough to snag a spot while someone was driving away. It's a first-come first-served campground. If you arrive before checkout and all the spots are full. I suggest politely, talking to campers that are checking out on that day (be courteous, and not disruptive)..... More

We stayed at this campground on trip to Glacier National Park. It is in a nice setting with many things to do and wildlife to see in area. The most impressive thing about this campground is The Ranger Michael Lambert. We went out for day hike and it rained. When we came back our chairs were folded under tree with... More

Dogs not welcome anywhere - even on a leash. Couldnt not go on any trails. Campground didn't have private sites nor any showers except at the store for a fee. Stayed 1 night only then headed to Banff!

This was our favorite campsite at Glacier National Park. Why? The location was great, we could easily access Logan Pass hikes and it wasn't too far to drive to Many Glacier to see the sites & do the hikes without having to relocate. We brought along our inflatable boat and went for a float on St Mary Lake which is... More

Spent 4 nights at Rising Sun in mid-July. Tents and RVs are allowed but we were camped in the section that doesn't allow generators so it was nice and quiet. Our campsite was set back off the road a bit with lots of trees and plenty of flat space for tents. The bathrooms were clean and showers are available for... More

Rising Sun Campground doesn't fill up as fast at Many Glacier and is a very nice campground with clean bathrooms and easy access to showers. My favorite feature of the campground is the sun reflecting off the peak behind St. Mary lake - both in the morning and at night. Best campsites are below the bluffs - turn left when... More

We arrived at Glacier with no plans and no reservations. They had a few openings at Rising Sun Campground, thirteen miles from the St. Mary entrance. There is a general store which is well stocked, bathrooms in the campground and showers behind the general store. You have to purchase the showers at the store. The campground is nice and clean,...
