It was a little more remote than expected. Over 35 miles from the entrance to the park, and really nowhere to get supplies. There is a nearby boat marina, but it had little, and closed early. The camp ground was clean and roomy. It had electric sites available but no water hook ups. (You could fill your tank by the...

We camped her in February during what we thought was the dry season. It was quite warm and the mosquitoes were horrible. The park was basic - one of the few national parks that actually offer electricity. The campsites are in a large field with gravel pads, picnic table and BBQ. The park employees are very helpful. Only one shower...

Swarms. And I mean swarms. I saw warnings of lots of bugs but I thought, "Oh, I am outdoorsy, it won't bother me." It was terrible. The sites are typical NPS sites, which are fine. The facilities were not as good as others--bathrooms were not maintained well (no soap in hand dispensers, out of toilet paper). The showers did not...

Very simple campground. The bathrooms were clean and did have showers. We did rent a canoe and paddled the Everglades for a couple hours. We also did a boat tour out of the marina which was nice. We saw manatees and dolphins. We were lucky and didn't have bug issues in the campground but on the hiking trails the mosquitos...

This is a really neat place to camp.... well off the beaten path, even during Florida's tourist season. The two of us stayed one night in the campsite and took a boat tour into the mangrove swamps the next morning. January is the dry season, so many birds are here, since the low water concentrates the fish into this area....

No water & sewer hookup in RV section. Electricity only. Water fill at all restrooms. Only restroom without hot water is the in the most expensive part of campground. (RV electric sites). Hot water is solar heated - so plan to have a hot shower mid morning to dusk. Spacious sites Not all have fire rings Great staff - every...

First off, Reserve America's website didn't have any sites for camping and when we got here the place is practically empty! Nothing special. No swimming! Anywhere! Bird Watching is about it. Canoe rentals way up at visitor center which was crowded with day tourists. THE MOSQUITOES were horrendous. I guess there protecting them too.

When we arrived we were told that there were complaints of mosquitoes, little did we know how true that was!! Apparently, they cut the grass really short and spray for bugs right before the season starts...for which we were a couple weeks early. You could not open the door to the van for a second and a hundred bugs flew...
