We absolutely loved the campground/campsite. It is near the wilderness access center, the shuttle busses, showers, ... We also liked the (free) ranger programs at night at the campgrounds amphitheater. Only drawbacks are the noise from the highway and the railroad and the overpriced showers.
We enjoyed 3 nights in Riley Creek. It's dry camping but with a generator it worked well for us.
There was a general store, laundry room and pay showers. Walking to the WAC for our tour was easy. Generator use is has limited hours but...More
Great place to camp.
If you are renting a camper in Anchorage and plan on campfires in Denali, buy your firewood in Anchorage at Lowes. Firewood bundles at Denali are $10 each.
Same size bundle at Lowes in Anchorage $5 each.

We made our reservations about 9 months in advance, and did so on line. You cannot see Denali from the Riley Creek campground; you must either take one of the bus rides into the park, or a flight seeing tour, and even then there's no guarantee that you'll see Denali. We were very fortunate that when we left Denali Park and were actually driving on the road leaving the park, we had great views of Denali. . .the views were so good that we pulled over to the side of the road and took pictures. Those pictures are some of the best we got of Denali.
