I have a message for the management: historic cabin does not equal badly maintained. Try harder. If you want to stay in a hotel in Death Valley, the Ranch or the Inn are your only options. I stayed for a 5 nights in a Cabin at the Ranch, and kind of wish I hadn't. The room would be best described...

We stopped here for one night on the way to Vegas. For being in literally the middle of nowhere, the accommodations were comfortable and did well for the one night we were there. The morning we left we went to the breakfast buffet restaurant. I ended up getting glue on my pants from the booth's bench seat where it was...

After reading reviews, I was really nervous about staying at the Ranch in the motel style rooms. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room must have been remodeled, especially the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. My husband inspected for bed bugs and found none (he used to work for a hotel so he knows what to look for). The patio and...

Long drive to the Death Canyon. This cabin is old and there are a lot of seniors on their holiday, bikers everywhere and some with their RV's. The cabin is small, with coffeemaker and fridge. No free breakfast and wifi is so slow. Free parking. There were some bugs and moth inside the room which are expected for an old...

I had wanted to visit Death Valley for several years and finally got the chance through work. Stayed at the Ranch portion of the property for the more "modest accommodations" and they were definitely on the resort scale. The visit was actually during a recent winter storm so the weather was cloudy and moderately warm. The general store had great...

At over $300/night I expected a 4-star property. It appears to me that as it is the ONLY "hotel" in Death Valley National Park, the operators do not feel obligated to customers. "There is nowhere else to go, so if you don't like it, stay home" seems to be their attitude. The breakfast at $17 for bacon & eggs (without...

We enjoyed several days at the Furnace Creek Ranch. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. They have 2 Queen beds. There are many activities on the premises -- swimming, horseback riding, shuffleboard, bocce ball, and a small Borax Museum with outdoor grounds. Within walking distance, there is also a Visitor Center -- a must see is the movie about...

The ranch rooms have been substantialy improved from our stay about ten years ago. Based upon our last stay, I was dreading this stay, anticipating a grungy dilapidated pit. I was surprised in a good way. The room was clean, the bed and pillow were acceptable, the bathroom had good water pressure, the water was hot, the bathroom fixtures were...

It pains me to say anything remotely critical about the Furnace Creek Inn, because I have been staying there periodically for forty years and my family and I have always loved being there. It is iconic, has a perfect location, and the sense of history and local pride attached to it is remarkable. However, on my very recent visit our...
