Tented for three nights in this 40 space hosted campground. For the time we were there, full as of Wednesday afternoon, and half tents, half RV's. RV's respectful of camp, one nite a bad neighbor up to 11pm with monster truck and loud mouth 'needed correction'. Windy! Be prepared

Lovely, quiet campground away from it all. Enjoy the drive as you will do it a lot if this is your basecamp for other areas. We went in February and underestimated the shortness of the daylight, wind and cold for cooking and hanging out. The fire pits have lots of rocks piled for

This campground was on our way up North to Eureka Dunes so it wasn't terribly inconvenient. It was very windy while we were there and we needed to put a significant amount of rocks in our tent to ensure it would still be there when we got back from our day of exploring. We were t

The campground is closed due to flooding. Anyone know if it will open by spring?
It was newly reopened when we went in February 2018.

G'day. Great review on the campsite. Was wondering if there is cellphone reception at the campsite or nearby and how far is the nearest gas station. Thank you :)
There is no cell phone reception, but there is a pay phone a few miles away at the unmanned ranger station near Scotty's Castle. The closest gas station is about 25 miles away at Stovepipe Wells.

Hi, does anybody know if and how I can make a reservation for this campground? Thanks :)
You cannot make reservations at this campground. It is open all year, and it is first come, first serve.

"The outer rim sites to the west are the most private. North and south sites just inside the ring roads are also good with views."
"Be prepared for wind and short winter days if you go in February. Remote and fantastic!"
"This is a campground, TripAdvisor has it mis-categorized. Sites on the outer loop close to "the wash" are the best spots."
"The are no rooms a the Springs, but the setting is wonderful."
"Most of the sites seem comparable."
