We camped in October without reservations. We arrived shortly before a beautiful sunset. Since it was "after the season" the check-in station was not open and had confusing signage. We found a spot and settled in. BEAUTIFUL sunrise in the morning. Showers and bathrooms were nice. Garbage was overflowing from the weekend. Overall, we had a good experience. It was...

We stayed here three nights in September and the weather was perfect. You can walk to the visitor center and to the general store from the campground. There are also a few hikes within a 2 mile walk from here. There is water, showers and flush toilets, all pretty clean. The showers don't allow you to adjust the temperature, and...

Entering the campground the note on the closed station said 'no self-check-in' but NOT where to go TO check in. So, we found a spot on Agate Loop and set up our trailer. We went to the Lodge office to find where to pay. Lodge office had no sign re: camping so we approached Lodge check-in and were told that...

You wont forget this place. The views are kinda surreal. AKA - Star Wars. This must of been mind blowing to the early settlers. Imagine being an Indian from a forested area and being relocated here. Yikes.

We got in rather late after towing a trailer all day from Kansas City. After an evening of howling winds I awoke to a bright sunlight coming in through our trailer. I got up and went outside expecting that I had overslept significantly and it would be late morning. Met with a beautiful blue sky and sun just rising above...

Loved this campground!!! Although you don't have a ton of privacy, the spots are spaced far enough apart so you don't feel like you are directly next to anyone. The picnic tables have coverings over them and it looks cool and shades you from the sun. The rangers we encountered were friendly. Bathrooms were clean. And I think you have...

On a cloudless or limited cloudy night this campground, though with little privacy, offers great star gazing. Bathrooms and showers are o.k., water is hot quickly and water pressure excellent. The 50 cent shower is plenty long. There needs to be a better recycling system. The only container was overflowing for a couple of days. People will recycle in national...

We have been to many national park campgrounds and expect a certain minimum level of cleanliness. Nothing in my past experience prepared me for the absolute filth of the showers available in this campground. My husband was equally appalled, and noticed a bandaid on the floor. I dropped my shampoo and saw spiderwebs and general dirt and grunge under the...

Nice campground. We selected a tent campsite because we wanted to be away from the RVs and any noise they may make with their electrical stuff. While we were setting up our tent, a couple pulled up with a travel trailer in tow and parked in the TENT spot next to ours. I called the office to ask if RVs...

Some of the best camping to be had anywhere is going to be found inside national and state parks (in the US) and national / provincial parks (in Canada). Cedar Pass campground, embedded in the south end of Badlands National Park, is one of those gems. It's not a typical campground, given the campers (trailers, RVs) must park themselves on...
