We were seeking an interesting accommodation in this part of the Trans Canada highway near Thunder Bay, and were recommended to stay in the village of Red Rock. Here, from internet study, The Red Rock Inn seemed the best bet. On arrival, from a slip road off the Trans Canada, the Inn looks quite impressive and attractive from a distance....

This place is terrible. Website looked good...hotel on arrival bad. Restaurant very bad. Service was terrible. My wife and I (2 seniors) dragged our bags up a rotting front stairway while the manager and her chef husband just looked at us. Room had a gas fireplace with a strong leaking gas smell...slept all nite with window open to avoid being...

We pulled into this town at 930 at night to try and find somewhere to sleep. There was no one in sight. No one out for a walk...sitting on their porch...we pulled into the hotel only to realize...no one was there either...it was an eerie town straight out of a steven king novel. I would not recommend visiting this town...

after working 14 hours we just wanted to eat, wash-up, and go to bed. Resturant was closed, was told to go across the street to arena to get hot dogs or if we were lucky pizza. We as a asphalt crew make our own lunches, but low and behold no fridges in the rooms to put our lunch fixings. No A/C...

We had reservations at this hotel, I was wary since I read a review from over a year ago. But, that was the last review from anywhere so I had hope that things had changed. The website is fantastic, the hotel is just plain run down and should be shut down based solely on the creepy factor. We checked in,...

We stayed here on a Thursday night, the first night of our Lake Superior Circle Tour route from Minneapolis to Toronto. The web site is deceiving to say the least. You have to go quite far off the highway to reach Red Rock, a town that seems abandoned and sad, as did the hotel. The location by the lake is...

We were attracted mainly by the website of this hotel, as well as by its location ... we needed a decent place to stay between Sault Ste. Marie and Kenora. The owner was pleasant on the phone and we thought the rate was good ($125 for a queen plus a double plus a cot). However, we were greeted by (we...

I was on a motorcycle trip around Lake Superior and stayed at the Red Rock Inn. I found the place online and was impressed with the pictures and charm of the place. It is not quite as nice as the pictures show it to be. However, it is a neat place with a nice view of the lake. The price...

“There are 3 rooms facing the lake on the second floor,2 with balcony and one ( ours) without. I think 202/208/210 are these rooms. They are the most expensive but worth it for the lake /garden view.”
