Visiting local land marks and my family of 3 adults and two children under 7yrs, wanted a spot of lunch and called in because it advertised itself as dog friendly. The food is neither expensive or cheap, but it is freshly cooked, well portioned and very tasty. I had fisherman's pie and can honestly say it's the best I've had....

Oh dear, I am not sure what to say to keep upbeat. The cider choices are vast, not sure you would get away with trying everyone before buying as you would have to be carried out. Menu was very uninviting but decided on something and settled down to wait as one would when told all food fresh and home cooked...

Went on my own with my dog. Inside lacked anything to set it apart. Really good range of ciders. Menu not cheap. Chill con Carne was soooo salty I left most of it. Truly horrible. Person sneezing loudly from kitchen area not good either! Bar staff polite but no attempts to make conversation. Would not recommend - better pubs in...

We visit this pub for the occasional lunch time meal. On entering the Lounge Bar the door needs to be kicked to open it as it drags on the floor. This is a long term problem which would very easily be resolved by a man and a wood plane or similar. The noise from the opening door is loud and...

We arrived in December to be greeted by lovely staff. The car park is across the road from the establishment and gets fairly busy, so early arrival is a must! Our room was slightly tired and lacked finesse in places, one of our windows was cracked, so the condensation had built up inside the bay window making for a chilly...

What can I say... My partner and I stayed here for a weekend in November and loved it! It was specifically a "get away WITH THE DOG holiday" that we were after and hearing that this place is VERY dog friendly we booked! We had a friendly welcome, a warm and spacious en suite room, enjoyed beautiful walks from the...

As I passed through the village on the way to Lulworth Cove, I saw that the pub had previously been awarded the Cider Pub Of The Year by CAMRA and suddenly developed a bit of a thirst! I tried the Devon Red cider which was very good. I decided to have lunch, so ordered a cheeseburger and was awed by...

Found this place almost by accident as we were trying to find a dog friendly pub for a bit to eat after a visit to Durdle Dor. Quick download of an app pointed us in the direction of The Castle - glad it did! It is a bit dark and dingy, but that adds to the character I think.. the...

At almost £100 this room was overpriced and poor value for money. This is in comparison with several other hotels we stayed in on our recent winter Dorset Coastal holiday. We though £60 would have been the right level for our room. The room and décor appeared to be stuck in the 1970s and was in severe need of re-furb....
