A while ago I stayed at a charming place in the village of Muro, Corsica. Its magical atmosphere took us back right to the 16th century when the palace was originally owned by the Count Giuliani. This is Casa Théodora, a boutique hotel hidden in the hills near the city of Calvi overseeing the rough coastline. Even if only in...

Very nice renovated old house from the 16th century. Nice feeling of being transported in the past. Very nice paintings and authentic decoration. Though, the hotel is more a b&b, it is a bit overrated and really overpriced. The owner is very talkable and have many stories to tell ... on many people ... not always positive stories ... Be...

• The house is old, apparently from a doctor (as the name of the place testifies), well maintained in the old style: everything is arranged to make comfortable rooms (really old charming style, so do not expect stylish Novotel with standard furniture), well cleaned with individual airco in each room (hot & cold). • The breakfasts were very good. •...

Beware, this is a mediocre B&B masquerading as a luxury/boutique hotel. Yes, there's some quirky artwork on the walls, some of it is even quite good. But don't be fooled, there are several things that detract from this B&B. For instance, no fridges in rooms, there is no 'terrace' just a basement courtyard, the village is ok but run down...

Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay at Casa Theodora. However, I would respectfully like to draw your attention to a number of comments you have made which I don't believe reflect...

From summer 2015, the Casa Theodora is being run as a couples/adults only hotel exclusively for customers of Simpson Travel. Lovingly restored by its owners, almost every wall and vaulted ceiling is painted in colourful frescoes. The hotel’s six rooms/suites, spread out over three floors, are individually decorated using tasteful colours and furnishings. Each is equipped with tea and coffee...

Stunning location high in the mountainous village of Muro about 35 miles from Calvi. Beautifully decorated with trompe l'oeil murals and quirky unique furniture and details. Bedrooms perfectly appointed with fine crisp linen and immaculate bathrooms. Spotlessly clean, breakfast and afternoon cake all home made by the couple in residence. Small number of guests, lots of space and langourous comfortable...

Located in a characteristic village in the mountains, just 15 minutes from the seaside is worth the trip. Typical ancient Corse construction well and characteristically appointed inside, old forniture that let you feel the history of the past times. The owner, Mrs Myriam is fantastic !

This place is overrated and should not be part of the chateau collection. The rooms are substandard, small and in need of refurbishment. The owner is obnoxious and rude, she was shouting at us in the middle of the night, on the first night because of a parking issue and was disrespectful. She asked us to leave in the middle...

This was our first trip to Corsica and wanted to experience Corsican life away from the cities. Casa Theodora met all our expectations and more. Myriam and Adele were so friendly and attentive and made us feel at home from the very first minute. Breakfast was delicious especially her fresh warm home baked croissants. We arrived as strangers and left...
