Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.

I tried this Hotel once more as the staff are so great, but this will be the last time. The Hotel has not done anything about the really poor WIFI. Business travellers who want to work should avoid this hotel unless you want to use your phone as a hot spot. It is really not accep

We booked two rooms and were very happy with the size of the rooms, the bathrooms and the comfortable beds. The location is near the train station and there is a free shuttle that runs about every 30 minutes. The hotel has one of the best pool, jacuzzzi and sauna setups we have e

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I appreciate your comments concerning the Wi-Fi. While we have updated our systems a number of times since last November, it appears that it has not improved certain users internet performance as desired. This is certainly something we are working on now and view as a vital service to our guests. In addition, we apologize for any inconsistency in the hot water during peak hours and hope that we can improve this service as well so that you may stay more comfortably should you chose to stay with us again. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Sincerely, Manager

Well located close to Kyoto Station. The public area is modern and comfortable.

I felt that the twin room was small. Modern and well equipped. As is usual with business class hotels in Japan, all amenities are available.

I am not sure I understand the difference between the different floors. I get that rooms have different sizes and levels of luxury fitting (I guess) but what is the difference between a room on a STANDARD, PREMIUM or EXECUTIVE floor, besides the actual floor being higher? Do they give access to a lounge with free drinks or snacks on the executive floor or does one pau more just to be on a higher floor? I would be grateful if anyone could explain this. Thank you.
We had an executive room on level 10 and there was no executive lounge access for anyone unless you are a member of what appears to be a private club

Hi, 1) if i travel from Osaka airport and arrive at Kyoto station, can i board their free shuttle bus at kyoto station? 2) What is the operating hours of the shuttle bus?
If you don’t have heavy luggage it’s good to walk to familiarize yourself with the area. The hotel is not that far from the station but you’ll have to cross a one main road which is in front of the hotel. Otherwise, yes the answers below from others were right about the free shuttle bus. Enjoy and have fun in Kyoto!

Hi, I read that the tatami room should come with 2 single beds and 2 futon. However I browsed the photos and only saw 2 single beds and did not see the 2 futons. Pls advise.
Suggest to clarify with the hotel directly to avoid misunderstanding. Thanks!

Is there any baby cot for a 2-year-old? And how much is it?
dear C Guys above are right. I am sure Rhiga has cot rental and mostly it is free. At least, I have never paid for the cot at hotel like Rhiga royal. But one thing I concern and suggest you check at the hotel is, they don’t have many cots provided. All cots may out. I suggest you book the cot, before arrive.
