I don't write many trip advisor reviews, but this was one of our favourite refuges on the gr10 so it deserves it! Very friendly staff make it extremely welcoming and gives the excellent dinner a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop!

After the terrible night in Sainte Engrace this place is the complete opposite. A lovely, warm greeting, a pleasant, super clean gite, and food that was really tasty. They didn't mind preparing a separate veggie dish (the usual cheese omelette but well done) and the dessert was a delicious chocolate pudding. The carnivores had great looking stew and cassoulet. Nice place to stay. It was clean and the food was good/nutritious. I didn't have any problems with 'punaise de lit'. The host was really friendly. This place is ideal for hikers/bikers/climbers. It is not the most luxurious place, but it is a nice stop when you are walking the GR10.

The refuge lies just above the Arette-la Pierre-St-Martin ski centre at 1650metres. We stayed here on a quiet night in early September and the proprietor Jean and his son were consummate hosts. The refuge proved a perfect stop off on the long distance walking trail the GR 10 with a hot shower and a comfortable dining / sitting room decorated...
