I have more or less stopped using hotels when I travel, and La Giolitta is a perfect example why. Staying with «the locals» and having an opportunity to chat informally with a friendly host is so much more rewarding than your typical hotel. Especially when the place is so wonderful, and the host so nice. My room was wonderfully decorated...

Although it was the worst day to visit this beautiful town... a cold, rainy and foggy day...this Bed and Breakfast gave us beautiful time of sunshine. The lady was very kind and friendly. And her homemade sweets and bread are very delicious! We would like to visit again...on sunny day. Thank you veterans much for your hospitality😊 とても居心地の良いB&Bでした! ...

My wife and I were in Barolo somewhat spontaneously, and a local Barolo wine-tasting room attendant highly recommended us to stay at La Giolitta, and we are so happy we did. It was perfectly situated in the center of town; the rooms were large, well-kept and quite. Chiara was a perfect host and shared a lot of stories and recommendations...

The B&B is in the center of Barolo. We had a beautifully decorated apartment with private entrance, original stone/brick walls, large living area with soft furniture and large fireplace, terrace, a very well equipped kitchen, large bedroom and bathroom. The hostess was very kind, professional and accommodating. Beautiful breakfast in the morning. Fantastic atmosphere and very comfortable and beautiful experience...

We stayed at this delightful B&B right in the middle of the old town in mid-September. Unfortunately we didn't meet Daniela, who was away on vacation, but she left the B&B in good hands with Chiara who was so helpful in every way. Breakfast was wonderful and Chiara made delicious cakes for breakfast each morning and eggs any way you...

La Giolitta is a wonderful little hideaway in the heart of wine country. Daniella made every breakfast special with her delicious baking. We had access to the kitchen at all times for tea or coffee. The rooms were charming, spacious and clean. We had a little terrace off ours for enjoying the sun or stars. Hiking through the vineyards daily...

A warm welcome made us quickly feel at home. The owners are fun people and they are happy to share their knowledge of the area (and provide delicious home-baked goodies for breakfast.) Our room was very comfortable and we had a great view of the vine covered hills that surround the town. It's a gem. Do give it a try.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Giolitta is an ancient word people used to describe this neighbourhood of Barolo that overlooks the 'Fava' woods and the delightful amphitheatre of dominating vineyards. The Bed & Breakfast LA GIOLITTA is found in an 1800s building in the heart of the village and in the close vicinity of the castle Marchesi Falletti that houses the Barolo regional wine shop and the Wine Museum. The building has recently been renovated by the Volpi family giving it a friendly feeling, well looked after and furnished in the style of the house. Guests may use our breakfast room which has a kitchen with fridge, electric stove and expresso coffee machine. When you wake up you will find: - a buffet to satisfy your sweet tooth with homemade jams made from fruits of the season, homemade cakes, strudel, tarts and croissants, yogurt, muesli and cereal, fruit juice, fresh bread and biscuit bread, fresh fruit of the season - a savoury buffet with sliced meats, local cheeses served with cugna, eggs if requested. We will prepare your coffee, tea, cappuccino, long coffee, milk and hot chocolate. The overall atmosphere is modern with a "retro" feel, for example, the poker dots jars from Aunt "Dinda" and the abete bureau given to us for our wedding by Zio "Pante". The surrounding photos remind you of how the Langhe used to be in the 50s. The notice board has information about the weather, events and other possibilities ... more   less
