We really enjoyed very much this totally quite place, the beautiful chalets with so much warmess, with a view on the lake, nicely furnished with it own chimney. But above all we really appreciated the welcome of the host totally dedicated to his guests and full of knowledge about the region. The dinner in the restaurant facing the lake with...

We are currently sitting on the terrace with a farewell cup of tea and a cake because we can't bear to leave. Surely nowhere else on the Carreterra Austral can be as good? Stefan and Carolina, the owners, make you feel as though you are staying with them as friends. They are always cheerful and helpful and it's not just...

A great place to visit, with the best views from sunrise to sunset, at the lake and all surrounding mountains. The cabañas next to the lake are fantastic, you wake up just in the middle of nature! The family is very friendly and hospitable, teaches you how to lit the wood stove in your room (welcome at night!), helps you...

We stayed at El Mirador for 3 nights on our roundtrip through Patagonia. What a perfect place to stay! The best views, very quiet. We got the cabana right in front of the lake which was amazing. We loved waking up to the view of lago general carrera in the morning. You ate at the restaurant each night which was...

We selected this hotel because of reviews indicating a personalised family-run facility which catered for the needs of it's patrons. We were not to be disappointed! We made the booking via Booking.com which offered free cancellation. Within a day of making the booking, we received an email from Carolina welcoming us! We were impressed by this, because, for the vast...

My husband and I recently stayed a few nights at this wonderful lodge on the shores of Lago General Carrera. We travelled for five weeks through Chile Bolivia and Argentina, staying in cheaper and more expensive places, but this lodge was by far the best. The cabin was beautiful, the views across the lake stunning, the food in the restaurant...

I returned to El Mirador de Guadal a year after I visited them for the last time and wondered if the high standards, once put in place, were still there. And I was not let down. It looks like the owner is really investing his money in keeping everything to the highest standards and he is further improving services and...

After a 5 hour drive what we experienced on arrival made the long drive all worthwhile. Stefan & Carolina looked after us immaculately. It is just the most wonderful place, our view out over the lake was to die for. Our cabin was clean & very comfortable. The woodburning stove was an added bonus. Stefan was very helpful with advice...
