Mirissa Hills is located on the top of a cinnamon plantation with amazing views of the bay and hidden into the jungle. From the main road of Mirissa , you need to drive on top approximately 2 klm . Road is rough/bad and it takes 10 to 15 minutes drive . The tuk tuk cost is between 400 to 500... More

This property is not like any hotel I've ever stayed in before! Part hotel, part art gallery, part museum, it's beautiful and but odd! We stayed for two nights and I absolutely loved it. Set right up in the jungle, it's so peaceful. The infinity pool looks down over the jungle and is a unique spot for bird watching. This... More

On arrival, we have been upgraded and service was exceptional. Nice location with difficulty in finding. Bad road conditions. About meals - best coffee, delicious breakfast but dinner was not up to expectations. The best thing about the hotel is serene location and atmosphere.

Aesthetically speaking this hotel is perfection. It is a gem tucked up in the hills about 10 mins drive from Mirissa beach. It has outstanding views and also has a small cinnamon factory on site. A tour around this by the Manager is enjoyable. (Note you have to ask to do it as it is not advertised anywhere) Unfortunately, bricks... More

On a hilltop in a cinnnamon plantation a gem is to be discovered. A unique home away from home half an hour south of Galle. Mirissa Hills is an arcitectural delight, created by C. Anjalendran. Artworks can be enjoyed throughout the estate. The three buildings, the interior design, the pools, the bedrooms, the food, the gardens, the view; everything is... More

We spent only one night in this hotel, it is so peaceful, relaxing and quiet that for sure you refresh yourself in this place. The service is excellent, the view from the main area is wonderful, they prepared the dinner only for us, typical local food with excellent quality. Very cheap. The only concern is about the way to reach... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Mirissa Hills, one of the finest cinnamon estates southern Sri Lanka can offer. Spend your time wining and dining in our fabulous restaurant, famed for the magical local cuisine and western surprises, or enjoy a night in one of three totally unique and boutique luxury villas aboard the estate. At the top of the hill you will find yourself transported into an architectural jewel, designed by the infamous C. Anjalendran, protege to the late and great Geoffrey Bawa. Mount Cinnamon has panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Enjoy high tea of scones and cake whilst your eye wanders from paddy fields, mountains, jungle, all the way to the Weligama coastline. The contrast between contemporary and modern is done flawlessly from the flow of the building to the furniture that adorns this spacious home. The second property, called The Cinnamon Museum is home to a boutique restaurant (currently being renovated) where you can try the all the delights Sri Lanka has too offer, experience a traditional English high tea with cakes using our very own cinnamon. Western dishes are also available and are truly a gourmet experience. Come for the day and enjoy the beautiful views whilst relaxing by the infinity pool, lose yourself amongst the cinnamon trails or stay in one of four rooms decorated with hand chosen works of art and modern bathroom facilities. The final property is stooped in historical charm, over one hundred years in age, The Bungalow is the original estate building. The walls and floors are adorned with traditional furnishings to transport you back in time to by gone Ceylon. We also have a luxury tent perfect for a nights "glamping" experience, wake up amongst the cinnamon and enjoy a coffee whilst admiring the view of our whole estate. So join us for the day, book a room or occupy the entire property and enjoy a relaxing experience in the heart of Sri Lankan culture. ... more   less
