Detailed Reviews
The hotel and pool are nice and right on the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beach location is great and the beach has nice restaurants that offer a variety of good local and western food. The only negative about the place is that the local authorities had approved a beach party with a loud DJ that took place from 8pm until 7AM on Xmas Eve. The music was so loud on the beach that the hotel walls and windows could not filter any of the music out. Needless to say that there was no sleep on Xmas Eve. The hotel should warn hotel customers of this party so that the guests can stay at another hotel away from the beach.

We arrived at this hotel after driving around the area looking for somewhere decent to stay and that had direct beach access. Our rooms were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. The pool was lovely and we really enjoyed being able to sit on sun lounges by the pool, in the garden and on the beach.
WiFi was non existant in my room, but I could hotspot from my phone.
The buffet breakfast and dinner were great with lots of choices. However, the staff were not courteous and could do with training in hospitality.

The hotel sits in a beautiful location, has mesmerizing views from the rooms, plus you can hear the waves breaking when falling asleep. Beautiful.
However, there is a total lack of hospitality and customer service. The staff had little to no social skills. Already upon checking in we were a little bit taken aback by the coldness of the front desk, however we thought it might be us and the 10+h long flight we just took. But unfortunately this cold approach continued throughout our stay. The worst part of all was the person in charge of the pool/beach area. He approached us twice in one day asking if we were guests of the hotel. Clearly, thinking we were not.. we even had to tell him our room number to make him trust us. I mean I get that they probably have lots of random people using the pool and the beach all the time, but they should figure out some other system, which is not disruptive (and disrespectful) towards their own guests.
Anyway, all in all the hotel has beautiful views, amazing beach and a nice pool. If the staff were trained appropriately, it would be excellent, now it’s barely average.
I do have to mention that the housekeeping lady was lovely, and she was smiling at us all the time 😊
Maybe she could train the rest of the staff.

This place was such a disappointment. My contacts had booked and confirmed our accommodation in Sept 2019, only to arrive and be told there was no room for our guide and all my other guests split in rooms across the hotel. Management lied about confirming the accom even tho we had email proof. Staff were very uncooperative, and appeared to have no motivation. We cancelled our 2nd night and moved elsewhere.

We stayed in this superbly positioned hotel for three nights. The grounds were very nice with plenty of sun loungers available for sunbathing or reading. The pool was very good with many available loungers situated around it. The feel of the hotel was very luxurious with attentive and friendly staff. The dining room had impressive views of the beach and ocean and the bar was extremely trendy and cool to hang around in. The buffet food was very very good at breakfast and supper times.

NOTE: we were only day guests here.
The location of this hotel is stunning, the beach and pool area is beautiful, plenty of space for everyone and it is cleaned regularly.
However, the staff are ignorant and lazy, could not care less about customers. No one offers drinks/food and we had to ask 4 times to get chips cleaned off a table and off the floor from previous customers (this took 20mins). We also saw the manager take empty bottles from our table and put it on another table for one of his staff to sort later. We witnessed a waiter clear a table and put all the dishes on our table whilst we were in the pool and then were surprised when we told them to remove it. The food is not good, hot or worth the money either when there are some fab places to eat on the beach.

The staff here are the only people in Sri Lanka who are rude and unhelpful.

Rude staff. We spent 12 days in beautiful Sri Lanka exploring various parts of this country such as Columbo, Dambulla, Sigiriya, kandy and lastly Weligama. Our last 3 days were spent at the Marriott in Welligama Bay. We saw some reviews about the coconut tree hill and parrot rock and decided to take a Tuk tuk to Mirissa beach to check it out before flying back home. While we (fortunately) did not stay at the Paradise Beach Club the little interaction we did have with the staff was very off putting. As it was out last day we did not want to get sand on our backpack and Marriott was kind enough to let us come back and use their facilities to shower and change before the long flight back. We saw numerous empty wooden lounge chairs on the beach and put our backpack on one. We were almost immediately approached by a man who right away demanded that we pay him. It wasn’t clear if he even worked there but he offered us a “good deal”. He kept repeating “ you use you pay”. It was so rude the way he went about things! When we declined he demanded that we remove our backpack and place it in the sand. He then dragged the lounger away 5 ft from where we were standing. Truly it was like watching a toddler throw an tantrum for not getting his way. Again while I can not speak on the hotel portion, the little interaction we did have with the staff member made us so happy we stayed else where.

We ended up at this jewel of a hotel unplanned after a sleepless night at another hotel on the neighbouring beach.
From the moment we were greeted by Nithmi at the reception desk, nothing was too much trouble . All the rooms are beach facing with air con and a fan balcony and en-suite. The hotel is on the beach so no trek to the sea,at night all you hear is the gentle roar of the ocean , there are lively bars just a paddle through the warm ocean up the beach. The price includes breakfast and dinner both lots of options and the General Manager Ruwan was very keen to ensure there were vegan options cooked specially for me. The hotel lives up to its name and actually is paradise , we will be back !

I liked most the view from the balcony - facing the ocean, plus the direct access to the beach. The rooms are quite large and fairly clean and the balcony is large enough for 3/4 persons to sit and enjoy a drink. The pool is quite long - so ideal for people who prefer to swim in a controlled environment rather than ocean.

They do have family rooms and they are very Nice. They hotel is suited for children and no need to be concerned about parties. We spent a week with 2 kids the age of 5 and 8. We would choose This hotel again anytime.
I saw another reviewer suggesting they used the pool with a fee. However, best to call/ mail them to confirm.
