This is a really pleasant B&B in the village of Barrea, run by a lovely lady from the town. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains from the room and a lovely breakfast. Highly recommended. Great restaurant nearby.

We have stayed at La Scarpetta twice - once in the fall, once in the winter - and will DEFINITELY return. The town is just wonderful ... and this charming little B&B is, too. The owner is so friendly, you'll think you are staying with family.

This is a charming little bed & breakfast located in the center of Barrea, just steps away from cafe's and restaurants. Barrea is in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park. The views of lake Barrea and the surrounding mountains are beautiful. Your host is Florinda. She is a very nice lady and will make you feel right at home....

Our 2007 trip was our second to the ancient village of Barrea, our "family seat" in Italy -- we also went in 2006 and stayed for the first time at La Scarpetta. That first year, not knowing family -- or if we still had any family there -- we booked at La Scarpetta on the strength of its Web site....

My husband and I were very pleased with the beauty, cleanliness, hospitality, service, room size, breakfast......everything about this unique bed and breakfast! When we return to Barrea for another visit, we will most certainly stay at La Scarpetta di Venere again. The room was sparkling clean, with beautiful and comfortable decorations. There were two large windows in our room that...
