Detailed Reviews
We have had a fantastic short break stay in this wonderful spacious guest house. A lovely host in David. He assisted in ensuring we had a lovely meal in a nearby bar/restaurant by booking the venue for us at short notice. Cannot recommend this guest house enough. Many thanks from Declan and Violet Kelly

My new wife and I travelled Scotland and Ireland for 2 weeks on our honeymoon, taking in the rich beauty of these gorgeous countries.
Our first night in Ireland was in Dundalk where we stayed at the Rosemount B&B (another GREAT spot) after a lovely stay, Maisie recommended a new B&B in Co. Sligo run by her son and his wife.
We had been in touch with a very responsive David Meehan, proprietor of The Meadows via email during our travels and were able to arrange a room for our night in this area... and we were VERY glad we did!
David met us at the door, made us immediately welcome by showing us the house and our room. It was well into dinner time for us and David recommended a few spots, we picked the closest to the Meadows (A pub called 'The Club House' - which was fantastic).
After dinner, we were invited by Dave and his wife Sinead to join them for a drink to toast our honeymoon and we ended up talking for hours... very friendly folks - we enjoyed their company immensely! Felt like we made new friends on our trip!
THE ROOM
The Meadows is a new home, built by Dave and Sinead themselves on the picture-perfect grounds of an 80 acre working farm - we had particularly good weather and were able to enjoy the gorgeous scenery out our bedroom window.
The room was outfit with a luxurious King Size bed with top quality linens, gorgeous hardwood flooring and TV with digital cable.
A spotless washroom/toilet done in ceramic tile with a skylight in the ceiling, spacious shower with great water pressure, fresh towels, soaps - all the amenities!
BREAKFAST
We were invited into a Grand and gorgeous eat-in kitchen with huge windows looking out on to the beautiful landscape in the morning...
The table was set with an assortment of cereal, fruit, juice and jams - Dave made us fresh delicious coffee and then made us a delicious Irish Breakfast with eggs cooked to order, sausage, bacon (what we refer to as 'back bacon' in Canada), white and black pudding, toast, tomatoes and breakfast potatoes (i hope I'm not leaving anything out).
We invited Dave to join us and had a nice visit while thoroughly enjoying our breakfast!
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
We stayed in many lovely B&B's during our trip and enjoyed each one, however the personal touch, absolutely serene and breathtaking beauty of the property, a custom built house in one of the most gorgeous parts of Ireland (Co Sligo) with all the amenities nearby... I would recommend The Meadows to my best and closest friends!
If fact - we plan on returning to Ireland next year and will be taking 2 of our best friends on the trip - The Meadows is already a planned stop on our trip!

Excellent accomodation with lovely surrounding breathtaking views run by Dave who was a very warm and charming host. Room beautiful and comfort the same as mine own at home (which is saying a lot). The whole place was spotless. Whilst just up the road was the Lake Isle of Innifree it was only 15mins of a drive to Sligo town. Highly recommended I definately would be back.

I can only reiterate previous reviews - beautiful house in a lovely location (just up the road from the Lake Isle of Innisfree and 12K from Sligo town); great warm welcome from Dave. Room was fabulous with the biggest bed I have ever slept in, nice ensuite, coffee making facilities, sky box, great views over the surrounding countryside. Peace and quiet was wonderful and we had a great night's sleep followed by a delicious breakfast. highly recommend, definitely the nicest B&B we have stayed in. Sligo was great and we look forward to coming back here, there is so much to do in the local area.

A wonderfully peaceful stay at this very elegantly designed B+B. Dave was a very warm and friendly host and we so enjoyed our informative breakfast conversation. Breathtaking view from our spacious and spotlessly clean room. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stayed here with a friend earlier this year. We were attending a party in the local town. House is fabulous. Sinead showed us to our room which was big and spacious with a huge bed. Sine ad then dropped us into town to meet our friends. The following morning Dave put on a serious spread for breakfast. It was delicious and we had a lovely view of the countryside from the table. All in all, fab house, fab breakfast, fab owners.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay at the Meadows. Our bedroom and the ensuite were lovely, spacious and very clean. We enjoyed sitting and looking out our second story window at the sunsets and the beautiful and peaceful countryside around us. Dave and Sinead the owners, were gracious and welcoming. Our breakfast was delicious. The Meadows was a perfect location for us as we explored Sligo City, Donegal and other parts of North West Ireland. We especially enjoyed the nearby Dooney Rock nature area and trails. We have fond memories of the wonderful two days we spent at the Meadows and we hope to return on a future trip to Ireland.

A fantastic house in a stunning location. We enjoyed a large bedroom with a Super Kingsize bed with unspoilt views over the surrounding countryside. Immaculate furnishings were very comfortable and luxurious. Everything about our room and the ensuite was superb. The only minor comment we would make is that the TV needs updating, but this did not detract from our enjoyment at all.
Dave and his wife were very friendly and made us extremely welcome, and they looked after us very well at breakfast in their huge dining area.
We also enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the location of this beautiful home.
