What a great place to stay with fantastic view. Lovely warm clean swimming pool. Room were like 4 star very clean and tidy with everything we needed. New managers there were extremely helpful and pleasant with strong knowledge of local attractions. Will definitely be going back to stay.

Place is a bit dated but nice and clean and has everything you need. Management helpful. The setting is so wonderful and quiet and within easy distance of Mangonui but far enough to be peaceful We were lucky at had a top floor room with veranda and could sit and watch we birds, boats and even see fish rising in... Nice quiet spot on the bay just around the coast and easy walking distance from Mangonui town restaurants and shop. Two level "settler" style building, parking around the back (spaces a bit tight) laundry and area for preparing your catch! Rooms good and clean, if a bit dated, service from the owners was excellent, really helpful. Would return. Don't know... More

We had a special deal for a getaway weekend at this resort. We (felt) that because it was on of their "deals", that although we were the only guests there, we were given (possibly), NOT a premier room. The first floor rooms would have had a fabulous view, where as our ground floor room did not. The location is fabulous,... More

Was a good time to go to Mangonai. Motel position is very nice right at the lagoon very near to town centre. This is a Character Building with nice views and a swimming pool. Kids enjoyed the pool it was a shame that free wifi is just for one hour also for five of us even the milk and tea... More

Really enjoyed our stay at Acacia. The location is perfect and the views in the morning and late afternoon are just stunning. The rooms are fully equipped with everything that one would need, while the furniture is simple but ample. Very good price for what you get, especially if staying with a group as opposed to travelling solo. Would definitely... More

The dirty worn out carpet on the stairs to reception, was a prelude to the dated room we were about to receive. The motel is in a picturesque location, easy walk to town, and restaurants. The rooms have had some updating in the form of newer carpets and drapes, but the plumbing fixtures are really old, and in the case... More

A very good motel, right on the water. Our first floor unit was clean, well-equipped, and had a lovely little terrace where we sat out to eat, drink and enjoy the view. The staff we talked to were friendly and helpful. Others have mentioned the limited Wifi. In fact the owner gave us two separate one hour passes, and implied... More

We stayed in a self contained two bedroom apartment. Lovely aspect overlooking water. A ten minute walk to world famous fish and chips, not quite, but sitting over the water has something going for it. Acacia was clean and bright with a smallish swimming pool. Reception very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the wifi. Available free for just... More
