We stayed at the slieve Russell for a few weeks ago and, on another's recommendation, we went here for out evening meal. There was 5 adults, a child and our 6 month baby with us. Very welcoming and food was brilliant. I had the steak and others had fish and chicken dishes. Food was top class and staff were brilliant....

My family stopped in at the Anglers Rest for the Carvery on Sunday (11 of us) and everyone enjoyed thoroughly, so much so, we decided to go back the following evening and just select from the menu.Like many guests on here we were staying at the nearby Slieve Russell hotel but didn't fancy eating and drinking there the whole duration...

Popped in here for a carvery lunch during the week. The food was mediocre, well cooked but bland. Chicken curry tasted like it made from a packet. Service was friendly, decor is very nice. Decent selection of craft beers. Reasonably priced.

Thankfully I had ordered stir fried veg as this was fresh. The chips and stir fry were edible but the gout ones...

Others had pizza, chicken curry with rice & chips which they all enjoyed. The service was quick & friendly & considering it was a carvery...

Very good service, great atmosphere, but the food let us down. The steak was fatty and very hard to digest, and though not expensive, certainly wasn't up to standard. The service was very good and the waitress was helpful and friendly. We also found out the last taxi was 10pm, so we had to finish our meal before than or...
