Royal Regency hotel is in a city centre location, very convenient for shopping and for street food nearby. Also legal courts, government buildings and lawyers offices are nearby, useful for people resolving legal issues. The hotel is popular with NRI's, many return every year and stay for several weeks. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, the shower is hot and powerful, staff are helpful and the food is delicious. There is free secure parking for guests.
Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.
The reception desk is open 24 hours, the staff are courteous and very helpful. A special mention for Chiragbhai, always very helpful. The hotel owner is onsite most of the daytime and will help resolve any issues you may have. The air conditioned lobby area is bright and clean, useful for meetings with visitors or networking with other guests.
The cheaper rooms are smaller, basic, and have fewer facilities. The "Suite" rooms are the best and most expensive. The suite rooms have a three seater leather sofa and a four seater dining suite. The bed linen is changed every day and is clean. Other facilities are a small fridge, safe deposit box, flat screen TV, kettle, plug-in mosquito repellents, ceiling fans, as well as the A/C unit, everything works. Some rooms are newly decorated, other rooms are gradually being upgraded.
There is no onsite restaurant but food can be ordered from the 24 hour room service menu and eaten in the room. The menu is vegetarian and has various Indian, Chinese and European meal options. Egg based meals are available. I have only tried the basic Indian meals which have always been delicious and have never caused any health problems. My compliments to the chef Ashwinbhai, let him know if you have any special dietary needs. Breakfast is included in the room rate and available in the food hall on the first floor, fresh fruit and complimentary water bottles are available in the breakfast hall.
The bathroom is clean and has plenty of complimentary toiletries. There is no bathtub but a powerful and hot shower, with facility for a bucket bath. Some amenities are basic but overall good value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to family and friends.

If you need to stay in Navsari then this makes a good choice in a busy but not hectic part of town. The english-speaking reception staff were helpful and friendly and the room was modern and immaculate with a walk-in shower. Bed was very comfortable and air conditioning effective if a little noisy. The Gujarati breakfast was limited in choice but was good quality. The only thing to lower the score was that the breakfast room was cramped with no atmosphere

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Regency. Staff are very attentive to your needs, specious room with great showers, excellent home style food and very close to the shops. Breakfast sets you up for the day and menu changes everyday with some great Gujarati classics.

Stayed there for an interim stop from Anand to Mumbai. While the hotel is stated to be Top Rated, I am really concerned how they have been able to classify. The Hotel is located in a crowded area but has car parking facility. The rooms are strictly OK from a 3 star perspective, the beds, the overall hygiene and room needs an uplift. The lobby on 2nd floor was having a weird small and so was the first room assigned to us had a foul smell in bathroom. In terms of food quality and hygiene, there is a complimentary breakfast but totally not worth it despite a free meal. There is a hygiene concern with cockroaches spotted twice - once in the breakfast plate and secondly at the menu spread. Also, a couple of places, small rats were spotted. Coming to the bathroom, linen and toiletries- they are all substandard. While they may be good for some local / economical travellers, it is definitely not recommended from a family standpoint and 3* standards. I wouldn’t recommend even if it is for one night halt

This is the one and only place to stay if you are visiting navsari, and have nowhere else to crash. The hotel is nice and clean, and the rooms are spacious. The modern feel is refreshing. The service is sooo good too. The staff are very helpful, and the price is so reasonable. The location is also in the heart of Navsari, and there are many nice shops along the same road.

I have an apartment in Navsari, but I don't stay there on my visits on account of lack of cleaning/maintenance staff. Consequently, I have stayed at the Regency, Navsari on four separate occasions, the most recent one being last week (October 5 through 8, 2014). On each occasion there have been a few issues which rankled, but not serious enough to rule it out for future visits. However, my last visit there was quite a challenge in itself. Let me explain.

I had booked a suite. Was given one on the 4th floor. The room, like other rooms in this hotel, is pretty much okay where it comes to size and cleanliness, even though the rooms are now beginning to look old and can do with some refurbishing and re-laying. But this room I was given was "unique". For starters, the window stared straight into an ugly concrete wall barely 4 feet away! A look slightly downwards while standing there and I was looking into someone's living room, with the disheveled occupants in various states of undress! If you're going to be staying in a "suite", then the least one should expect is a decent view and not be privy to some family's business!

The dining table in the room was right in front of the toilet! Nobody seems to have paid attention to the layout and aesthetics. When I enquired, I was told the owner himself had personally supervised the layout, so that was pretty much a dead end by then. Right in front of the bed is a mirror, which should appeal to those with certain intentions. However the TV was off to the side - if you're planning on watching TV while lying in bed, expect a sideways craning of the neck.

The lights above the dining table were "fused" and did not work at all. This was discovered after we ordered dinner and sat down to eat. A complaint to reception elicited a completely indifferent response, on the lines of "there's not much we can do about it since it's fused". When pressed further, the receptionist became quite insolent and asked me why I couldn't manage with the reflected light from other parts of the room! I thereupon asked to speak with the owner, was told he wasn't there, and further told they were "not sure" when he would be in next since he supposedly has "no fixed time" of attendance! Subsequently, we had to eat our dinner sitting on our bed! When we mentioned this to the staff at reception the next day, there was only a blank stare in return. We didn't ever hear a single "sorry" or a word of commiseration.

The toilet in the bathroom had a leak of some sorts, and there was water continuously on the floor. During our entire stay there, not ONCE did they come to clean our room or even enquire when they could come to clean it. Upon enquiry, we were told that the room can be cleaned ONLY IF we leave the room keys with reception. In other words, they expect you to GET OUT of your room and leave the room key with them if you expect a cleaning. The question of how the room should be cleaned even if you intend to stay in it was never addressed.

The fact that the reception staff were quite indifferent, unfriendly, quite RUDE and ARGUMENTATIVE at times when they were questioned cannot be stressed enough. Travellers are advised to keep this very important fact (also affirmed in some of the other posts on here) in mind. I have been subject to this rude and argumentative behavior on my previous visits to this hotel as well, and I wonder why the owner has not taken steps to improve on this particular point. Regardless of the nature of your complaint, I can assure you that you will NEVER EVER hear a "sorry" or some other apology from the staff! Are we supposed to think that rudeness and surliness is a Gujarati trait?

There is also no provision for in-house laundry. If you want your clothes cleaned, some guy from a private agency (dhobi) is sent to your room after some time and you have to deal directly with them, and the hotel makes it quite clear they're in no way responsible for any of that!

On the positive side, room service for food was quick and polite, and even though the food isn't quite haute cuisine, it is ok by Navsari standards. Thankfully, there are now other eating options near the hotel. Also, location-wise the hotel is very nicely situated. Also consider the fact that despite all the "problems" I've mentioned above this hotel is still considered the best in Navsari! One wonders what the other hotels must be like then. One also hopes the owner isn't taking advantage of this monopolistic situation to get away with glaring lapses and defects.

To sum up, the hotel is the only one in Navsari with some "standards", however low they might be. It also has an excellent location and decent room service for food. Other than that, there are quite a few negatives. The rooms need upgradation and renewal. Keeping dining tables in front of the toilet door is really not very pleasant. The reception staff IS quite rude and unpleasant - there is a very urgent need for the owner to look into this and change this before the situation gets out of hand. Also do not expect the hotel staff to go out of their way to assist you with anything. Their attitude seems to be that they will be quite happy to get away with doing the bare minimum, and if pressed or questioned they will argue with you and respond with rudeness.

Note: my companion who had checked in with me works for one of Europe's largest travel agencies, and she was evaluating this hotel for recommendation to their guests. Her recommendation will be going online soon, and I wonder what this hotel owner's reaction is going to be when he reads it... that is, if he at all bothers to read and hear what his guests are really saying. It seems the rude staff go out of their way to shield him from answering to the guests. In all my visits, I've seen him only once - at all other times my request to speak to him was never attended to or followed up on, despite the fact that he would've been familiar with me on a personal level through common friends.

I visited Navsari towards the end of March 2013. My brother in law had stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and had recommended this hotel to me.

I arrived at the hotel early morning of the 23rd of March, following a long drive from Mumbai airport. Check in was quick, and initial impressions of the hotel were very good. Modern, clean, tidy, and helpful corteous staff.

I booked a super deluxe room overlooking the front of the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and modern with a nice ensuite bathroom equipped / power shower. Room was equiped with A/C, fan, a fridge, cupboards, a table and chairs and a safe for your valuables.

Refreshments and foods are available 24 hours a day delivered to your room. Good value for money and the food is as good as any location in navsari.

Room service and cleanliness are very good in this hotel. They take great pride in maintaining high standards and looking after the customer.

The only negative I would say is lack of WIFI in hotel rooms. It is available but in the hotel lobby only.

Location is central to Navsari within easy reach of the bus station, train station or the local highway. Travelling around navsari is cheap in rickshaw's and these can be easily flagged down outside the hotel. The hotel is well located for travelling around navsari and surrounding areas.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 days and despite being very busy during my stay i really cannot fault anything.

If you have read my other review's you will have worked out I do not recommend staying in hotels I am not personally happy with, but in this instant I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to fellow travellers and look forward to staying here again in the future.

The hotel staff provided excellent service most of the time, holding the doors open on entrance and when leaving the doors, they call the elevator as well.

The hotel is decent when comparing it to the surrounding areas of Navsari. The rooms had a weird smell, it might have just been the air, but air fresheners would have been appreciated.

The rooms had good beds, but was let down by stains on walls and sometimes on bed sheets. We had two rooms between our family and there was 6 of us. In the room we stayed in there was a damp musty smell, which was unpleasant, it could be the result of a room which hasn't been used in some time. The rooms have air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

The wi-fi works in the lobby area and is alright for general surfing and e-mails/Skype.

The prices are cheap and in comparison to Navsari, the hotel is probably the most decent ace you could stay at.
