Hard to get beyond the fact it took about 40 minutes to get my (hand crafted) coffee in the morning from the time we sat down and ordered. Just one example of the service being more amateurish than professional. The woman at the front desk our last night did, however, do a good job of booking us a taxi to the airport for the early morning. The rooms are very small but clean and comfortable. Taipei is an absolutely wonderful place and this hotel has an excellent location (near Daan MTR station - use exit 2, which I wish they’d told us).
I stayed here for a few nights right after New Year's Eve. The hotel is located right near Da'an station and is bright and airy. I was in room 4, a mini-double with ensuite, which was VERY small so I'm happy I was travelling alone as two people in the room would be very squashy. The room was very nice - modern and clean; and free snacks were provided in a small common area at the end of the hallway. I liked that the room looked into a small courtyard filled with plants. The bathroom was VERY small. A shower that is over the Japanese-style toilet, so that when you showered the whole room became wet. There was also not really enough room to stand and have a shower without almost being on top of the toilet...this would be my main compliant about the room. This hotel also has a cafe that operates from breakfast until 8am so there can be some noise from cafe guests and it can get loud at times. It was no so bad when staff closed the door between the hotel & cafe, but really that door should be closed all the time. I would askfor a room further along the corridor to minimise noise.…
I booked a mini double and was upgraded to a quad. It had a double bed and a double decker bed. I just used the double bed. The room no was 9. It is at the end, next to the water dispenser and free tea and small snacks. I didn’t have to use the free bottled water provided in the room. I’m trying to reduce my disposable bottle useage. I just refill from the water dispenser. The room has hairdryer which is the size of travel hairdryer. It works well. The bath soap is nice. I didn’t try the shampoo and conditioner as I always bring my own. The room is clean. Room 9 has a glass shower door so the toilet and basin area does not get wet. There seems to be something not well with the sewage. There is a faint smell. I sprayed my citronella insect repellent to mask it. Sometimes there is a loud gashing sound of water. I think because someone flush. Fortunately there are only 9 rooms so not many people flush and it is quiet after midnight. The location is really quiet. Don’t hear traffic. So other sounds seem very loud. Room 9 is next to some stairs a d doors. So I can hear people coming and going. It gets a bit noisy after 7am. So if u are light sleeper you probably can’t sleep late. Breakfast starts at 8am and I ate the Taiwanese breakfast every morning. It’s really yummy. The best is the location. It’s at da am station which is intersection of 2 lines. It’s super easy to go night markets, CKS memorial, Sun yat Sun (change trains) Taipei 101. The exit from mrt is upward riding and the one with lift is exit 4 or 5 which is about 10 mins walk and quite a walk within the mrt. The mrt is not so suitable if you have difficulty walking or climbing stairs. I would stay here again.…
It’s a pity our room was so tiny as we loved the ambience/friendly staff here. Bed squashed against a wall - so one of us crawling over the other - and miniature shower-room. It’s in a back street and unless you’re looking for a cafe, easy to miss. Limited number of rooms, all on ground floor. No views. Absolutely no spare space to open suitcases or unpack anything. It felt more like a very upmarket hostel (albeit with private rooms). Breakfast was delicious. Open bar/hot drinks area which was nice. Possibly more suited to a younger clientele or single occupancy.
Nihao cafe hotel is located a minute away from Daan station. Do note that the exit nearest to the hotel does not have a downward moving escalator. lt is about a 30 minute leisurely walk away from Taipei 101 or the Zhongxiao Dunhua shopping area depending on the direction you walk in. It is particularly enjoyable when the weather is good. The double decker bunk bed room is perfect for solo travellers but might be a little tight for 2. The comfortable bed and shower with high quality toiletries definitely more than made up for it. The friendly staff made this place feel like a home away from home. Even after 3 times staying here, I will still be back! If there's an opportunity, do give their breakfast a try. The local Taiwanese breakfast consisting of congee, fish and small sides was comforting. …
We had a fantastic stay at Nihao. The rooms are tiny but we already knew that so my mom and I booked the family room for us two and it was enough space (you don't feel crammed). The beds are confortable and the rooms are really quiet. The staff is great and the breakfast and coffee is the best thing here. We tried most of the menu and loved it. The hotel is very close to the metro (which is a must in taipei) and close to shops and restaurants. We felt at home.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Cosy, nice breakfast and centrally placed without being in the middle of the 'city-noise'. Laundry service superb and cheap, hand in your clothes in the morning and in the evening all ready and dried for you. In Taiwan late check-out normally costs extra, but they didnt charge anything and were patient.
Perfect location to MRT and great neighborhood for restaurants and coffee. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Provided new water bottles for us each day. Our room was small (tight for for two people each having a carry on size bag) but everything was very clean and cozy. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Shower had great water pressure and hot water would not run out. Bathroom included bidet toilet and toiletries provided were very nice quality! Room had central air (important to us in Taipei because it is so humid). Nice window that was able to open for fresh air (but be careful of mosquitos). Would stay here again and definitely recommend.
Hotel rooms are a bit small and hence booking a double bed room for a solo traveller was perfect. Toilet can be considered squishy however with so much to do in Taiwan and hardly spending much time in the room, it was perfect. Extremely happy to get a room that had a proper openable window with a view to the trees! Communal areas were homey and always felt inviting to spend time there instead of being cooped up in the room. The close proximity to the MRT station at Da'an was super, the hotel is located just behind the station!
We stayed here for 4D3N. Nice n cozy, just minutes to the MRT. Room is small but clean. Shower and toilet area is a bit squished which have to get used to if ur staying for a few nights. Walkable to shops and restaurants around Da-an.
