The staff was friendly and the check-in was smooth. Unfortunately the room 306 had an air conditioning problem so they kindly moved me to room 506 after the first night. The new room was fine, but the WiFi was not too good on the 5th floor. The rooms have no windows but they are well-equipped. There are no wardrobes as is common in Asian hotels - there were only 3 coat hangers. There were plenty of bathroom amenities though - toobhbrush, toothpaste, razor and shaving cream, shower cap, comb and cotton wool buds and soap bar. There were shower gel and shampoo dispensers in the shower. MAJOR ADVANTAGE: UNIVERSAL PUG SOCKETS!! The plug sockets allow you to plug British plugs in directly with no need for an adaptor! Two bottles of mineral water provided free of charge daily. The room only had a shower. Breakfast is provided and vouchers are given for either Food Life (a nice cafe nearby) offering your choice of toasted sandwich, hash brown and tea/coffee, or at a cafe outside the entrance offering a pastry and hot drink. The entrance to the hotel is a bit bizarre - it is a deserted area with a lift to the 3rd floor reception area. Don't be put off though - even though the entrance area is desolate the hotel inside is fine!

Great hotel with very kind and helpful staff. Very well located near the MRT. Plenty of shops and malls around. The room we got was a family one. It was big and with windows. Bedroom is equipped with Japanese style toilets. All the amenities you can expect are also provided. Water bottles are also provided, with tea, boiling kettle, safe... There is no breakfast in the hotel itself, but the hotel is linked with 2 small restaurants. One in the same building (but not the kindest staff), another one at less than 50 meters from the hotel, offering very nice food (salty and sugar). A special + for the hotel decoration.

Loved the location within 10mins walking distance to the metro, convenience stores, large shopping malls, eateries, and 24 hot foot reflexology massage spots. In terms of facilities this hotel is pretty spare. Rooms are compact - beds are nice, lobby is quirky... there seems to be a business centre and some meeting rooms. WiFi is reliable. Breakfast is at 2, different spots - either at a roadside cafe (more food options) or a coffee shop downstairs (well, coffee and pastries). It’s a step above hostels and a step below large, global chains. The entrance could use a bit of sprucing up (lift had broken glass held together with some tape) but all in all, I good. I would consider staying here again for the price.

Via Hotel is located next to one of the biggest MRT stations of Taipei, so transportation is really convenient. It is wonderful that two restaurants near the hotel are available for breakfast, and food is offered late until afternoon. The room was spacious and design of the bathroom was excellent. Movies are also available for free. To sum up, it is an affordable and convenient choice for visitors to Taipei.

We were quite worried about the reviews when we booked the hotel. However when we reached the building, it is not as creepy and old when we went through the main entrance. The lift up to the reception is old and in need of renovation. But i believe is is not up to the hotel as the building is not manage by them. Room is big enough for 2 person and we definitely had a good night sleep with the sealy bed . We were given the room that is the same level as the receptionist level, so we do not need to carry our luggage up. Note that some rooms might need to carry your own luggage up the stairs. We were give breakfast vouchers for 2 cafes; 1 is right below and another is a short walking distance. Choose the 2nd cafe as the food is much better. It is also very near to the mrt blue line. thing to note: if you prefer windows in a room, this might not suit you as there is no windows even for deluxe double. As most of the time we are not in the room, we do not mind not having a window.

This hotel is centrally located, not far from the MRT station which is what we liked. The hotel could be seen from a distance away with the hotel logo visible from across the road, so it was easy to locate it. However, once at the building, we hesitate to walk to the building lift lobby because the building looks abandoned except for a cafe at the ground floor. The lift lobby looked like it needed some maintenance. Go up to level 3, we saw the hotel lobby, which looks decent with friendly receptionists. The room was exactly like what we saw in hotel's photo, in that sense there was no surprise. The hotel did not serve breakfast while we were there, instead, we were given breakfast vouchers with a choice of 2 places for breakfast, one of them was the cafe at the ground level of the building and another is a shop a short distance away that serves breakfast. We had our breakfast at the shop a distance away called Food Life. They served nice toasts. Our room was a small double bed room, which is functional in every sense. Overall, it is a low priced, functional room, if you can look past the condition of the building. It didn't quite work out for us, mainly because the room was windowless. There was no way to know if it is day time or night in the room, which we were not accustomed. To be fair to the hotel, it was made clear to us that there were no windows. As such, I didn't give a bad rating because of this. I have learnt since that I need a window!

When we arrived to the hotel, we got really scared of the conditions of the building, looks like a haunted house or American horror story, but as they say: Don’t judge the book by its cover. It was just the facade. A friend of mine that we’ve met in Taipei had the same experience, it seems trendy, too keep the building like they are from the outside. And totally an other world from the inside. The hotel exactly the same as in the pictures. The receptionists are very friendly and very helpful, the only thing the guy at night shift for our last night, we needed some help by we couldn’t comunicate with him, not a single word of English. The breakfast area is beautifuly done, and it’s used also for conferences and events. The best part you can brew your own coffee, and it’s really good. The connection from the airport to the hotels, the buss is your best option, the train take for ever, and the bus leaves you next to Sogo Shopping mall, and from there to the hotel 3 min walk. If you are tall like us don’t ask for a double bed, but a twin bed, at least the room with twin beds are much bigger then a double bed. The design of the rooms are very nice, and the showers/toilets too. It was a good choice. Very recommended.

Stayed here on April 15th to 17th. Probably a lot of traveller like this is because its situated about 5 minutes walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station and Sogo Mall. We choose this hotel because our relatives lived within 10 minutes walk. The hotel lobby is on 3rd floor. There is elevator to the 3rd floor (Saw previous reviewer stating there is no elevator). Probably he/she was talking about 4th floor. There are no elevator on the 4th floor. The climb to 4th floor can be tedious if you have a huge luggage. From Airport to the hotel We took Evergreen bus number 5201. The stop is MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing. After you get off the bus walked, walked toward the NET(clothing store) at the corner and follow along the walkway. Some landmark you will pass-by are Kao Chi Restaurant, Deja-vu hotel. Look into google map. Lobby On 3rd floor, there is an elevator. Staff are very friendly. Getting to your room, you need to pass through a glass door via your hotel card. I guess it’s pretty secure. Without that card, you practically cannot reach your room. So, take your hotel card with you when you leave the room. Room Room is small. If you have two large 28inch luggage, it can be a hassle. Once you open up both the luggage, you can hardly walked. Some traveller will not mind. We don’t either because we know it’s going to be a small room. NOTE: their standard room have NO WINDOWS. If you don’t mind this minor issues, there is no problem. Fourth floor room are not reachable by elevator. You need to carry your luggage up from the lobby. All modern amenities in the room are there. For example, safety box, coffee & tea, hair dryer, 5 to 6 electrical jacks and shampoo and bath gel. Toilet seat is the best. Have heat and the Japanese style dispenser. Breakfast You need walk to 5th floors to get it. If you are travelling with elderly person, you need to be aware of this minor issue. Breakfast - 4 selection : 1) Porridge with other add-on 2) DIY grill sandwich - they provide the cheese, slices of hotdog, onions, green onion and other vege. Put everything into the bread and do your diy. There is timer. 3) Toast bread, Bao and Mantou. 4) DIY - Waffle There have selection of machine brewed coffee or ground coffee.or tea. Laundry Machine There is laundry and dryer. Overall, we had a pleasant stayed. Nothing to complain.

In one of my frequent visit to Taipei, I've decided to give this hotel a try given the rave reviews on TripAdvisor. They are not wrong - the hotel is located within minutes of walk to the ZhongXiao FuXing junction, one of the prime locations in Taipei (more for female shoppers than business, I guess) - which can access almost anywhere with ease. The hotel itself felt recently renovated and seems to be converted from an older commercial building(s) - which means there NO Windows. This may not suit some travelers. However the room itself has great designs (compared to other budget hotels I've been to). The breakfast is very basic but managed to cover both east (congee) and west (self-made waffle / toasts). The service is top notch and I'm very impressed given the nature (budget) of it. E.g. you can borrow almost anything (including tapes and strings for wrapping boxes, portable wifi (fee/day), etc). The reception is on 3/F with no internal lift - however they are happy to bring your luggage to your room for you. Well done to the management team. For the price it's definitely one of the best value budget hotel around in Taipei. It also seems to have some sister hotels around in other locations which I'd give them a try too. Highly recommended.

Was looking for a quadroom when booking our stay in Taipei since the 4 of us (all girls) don't want separate rooms and I found this hotel. We did not expect much since the price is relatively low. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building. The ground floor area is not a pleasant sight but once you reach the 3rd floor where the lobby is, you'd be impressed. The staff is nice and friendly. Our quadroom is spacious and cozy. DIY breakfast provided in a spacious dining area with movie played on a LCD monitor. And free snacks is provided all day long. The location is great..close enough to the shopping malls MRT and bus stations. Will definitely recommend to friends if they visit Taipei.
