Staffs- very friendly, take care of things. Parking-no charge but tip is welcome. Copy/print and local calls are not free, but min amount. Room-very clean and remodeled, one person is fine, but 2 can be a little crowded, from Americans’ point of view. shower or tub is good, water pressure is very good. A Surprise- There is a rinse hose beside the toilet, a simple bidet. Lobby-layout is a little bit strange. Breakfast-need to improve, no signs for the dishes and items. I stayed for 10 days, I am sick of it after 3 days. Location-best ever. Noise- If you are very sensitive to noise, then go somewhere else.Because guests can be noise, close doors not in a mindful manner, and if neighbors take shower in a late night, you’d be bothered by the running water very loudly.
This was my one day trip to Taipei on a Friday evening after a business week in Hsinchu. Reason I picked this hotel was to be close to the shopping areas. This pşace is very close to the Electronic markets, jade market and as well as close to the city center. Hotel is 3 star, but price is reasonable. I think it was a good choice for me. May be not the best though...
the staff are very accommodating, they speak English well, they give extra care and attention to every detail of our travel, the rooms given to us were just enough for tourist like us but all the basic necessities including a hair drier are there.Location is good if you want to stay in a not so crowded street.
The entrance of the hotel is just opposite to Chunghsiao Hsinsheng Metro Station Exit 3. Walking to the nearest bus stop only takes within 1 minute. Taking a bus to Ninghsia Night Market does not need too much time. Convenient store can be found easily near the hotel. The staffs are so kind and we get a twin-bed room at the 3rd floor. Furnitures are Chinese style. Though locating at the street corner, living in the hotel does not feel noisy. It is a good choice if you want to have a city tour in Taipei.
The KDM hotel is located about 50 meters from the Zhongxiao Xinsheng subway station, making it incredibly convenient to reach other parts of Taipei. The hotel itself looks a bit dilapidated from the outside. The inside, however, is tastefully modern and conservative. The front desk staff speaks decent English and check-in was hassle free. Each floor has about 6 rooms so it is a bit cramped in the hallways. Our room itself was small for American standards, but still had everything we needed. (We did notice my parents' room on the same floor was slightly bigger and we paid the same price.) We had a comfortable queen size bed, TV, fridge, and desk. The bathroom is a bit cramped and features a tub, separate shower, and toilet. Not the most efficient use of space as the shower head could be placed over the tub and make for more space. There are multiple restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. I recommend trying out the Yonghe Soymilk restaurant about 3 min walk away for a cheap and traditional Taiwanese breakfast.…
Modest price and good value. Newly renovated makes KDM a pleasant place to stay. Tidy rooms very wet bathroom with shower shame the plumber didn’t do a better job finishing off the faucet to the wall. Good quality modesty priced hotel in a decent location next to the subway. Didn’t like the buffet breakfast coffee is OK. If it is included with your room good but don’t pay extra. Big Mac or other places close by. There are hundreds of places to stay in Taipei that are nowhere near as nice as the KDM. If you are on a budget then consider the KDM but good prices are probably only available through the net. Walking distance ot the Taipei Technical University and very close to the Ghunhwa computer center.
Stayed at the KDM many times dating back to BEFORE the MRT came to Taipei. In the past it was becoming kinda run down, but now they have renovated and the rooms are much nicer. Small, but clean. Only problem I had was the noise. The room doors are like a bank vault closing.
We stayed here for 2 nights on the 6th floor. The room itself was clean and modern, but the bathroom had urine stains on the back of the toilet where the seats lift up. The bathroom was a bit weird as I think the glass separating the shower & bathtub from the toilet was missing. The shower head is to the right of the bathtub with a small walkway space big enough for a stand shower, however since the glass was missing the water splashed all over the floor. We even aimed the shower head at the bathtub as you stood in there, but water still got all over the floor and you had to use your towel afterwards to mop up the floor. Walls are pretty thin, you can hear other guests as they leave or are talking in the hallway to the elevator..rooms are also not that far from the elevators. 8 rooms per floor, 2 rooms on each corner of the elevator. You can even hear the other guests taping up boxes with packing tape in the room next door, quite the annoying sound to wake up to @ 7:30AM. Beds were comfortable and pillows were soft, sheets were clean and smelled fresh. The sink was in the bedroom, it was a weird set up. Breakfast was included with our stay from 7:30-9:45AM (not a western style breakfast except for eggs & toast). Hotel was right across the street from the MRT station, so very easy to get to and from when you wanted to leave.…
The dated decoration with dark wood and purple red scheme is gone, the new clean look is nice, but the superior double I booked through agoda no longer has a tub as shown in old pics there. Spacious room, big bed. Staff friendly, helpful. Very convenient location, right next to metro station where blue one and orange line meet, and evergreen bus to taoyuan airport (TPE) is just across the road. Big new TV with digital cable channels, plus Bloomberg and CNBC hidden before channel 400.
I stayed here for 4 nights on my business trip. Although the hotel’s building looked old, the room I was provided was modern. I admit that it smelled slightly moldy, but it was not at unbearable level (in addition, this often happens to hotels of this class in Taiwan and Hong Kong). The room (on the 11th floor) had a view of the east of the city including 101 Tower. Breakfast is Western, Chinese and Japanese, which looks they try their best considering the cost. The receptionists were all extremely kind and polite. Only one drawback was that the hotel was under construction and some parts of the hotel were covered with white plastic sheet, which gave me a bit unpleasant feeling although it didn’t give me any practical problems at all. So, please ask the hotel to check the state of the construction if you want to avoid this. Overall, it was good for price and if you don’t look for anything luxurious.…
