Sogo Department store can be entered from Zhongxiao Fuxing metro station. There are actually two SOGO stores across the street from each other. The subway exit enters directly into the basement level of the newer 11 floor department store. The basement level has a gourmet supermarket, many bakeries, gourmet food outlets. It’s always fun to look at all the foods and imported foods from around the world at very high prices. A bag of Canadian Kettle potato chips was $20 Cad ($3 in Canada). There was a famous Singaporean meat jerky store (Bee Cheng Hiang) where sheets of grilled jerky cost 410NT per 300g ($28Cad/lb), exceptionally expensive. Bakeries had great baked goods but expect to pay double for all baked goods as compared to costs from other bakeries . Sogo tends to be high end, where everything is priced double. As for the food court and restaurants, Haagen Das was there, lots of offerings. There was even a Din Dai Fung, a famous Michelin rated restaurant where you can always watch the guys through the window making the dumplings by hand. It is a real art to make 18 folds in a single dumpling at the top. Always a lineup with wait time of at least an hour to get a table there, but you can also order takeout in about 10 minutes to cook yourself. Next floor up were designer stores like Chanel, Gucci, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, etc. Next floor up, more designer labels like Max Mara, Marc Jacobs. As you go up the floors you get sportswear floors, kitchenware floors, appliance floors. I loved the hand blown glass art shop. About the 10th floor there is a mock Japanese garden all lit up with giant insects all over it. The last floor has restaurants and an Amadeus coffee shop, very elegant. Sogo Department Store is a great place to visit on a rainy day or stat holiday when everything else is closed.

like many other reviewers had mentioned, it is not easy to find this place. It looks really run down from the outside and along the corridors but the room is OK. It is an apartment, not a hotel. They do not have a reception. You have to call the people who manages the place when you check in, wait for them to come give you the key. The room was fairly spacious with 2 double beds for a family of 4, small wardrobe, a fridge, a TV, a washing machine, a dehumidifier (helps if you need to do laundry), a kettle (which takes really long to boil), a bathroom with shower (no tub). Towels, shampoo and shower gel are provided. When we got there, the place was clean. They clear the rubbish bin daily but they do not change towels, make the beds nor vacuum daily. We stayed for 3 nights and was told because the stay was short, they will not clean it for us. For the price paid, i can't really complain but after just a couple of days, with 4 adults , the room can become quite gross. It'd be great if something like a swiffer/magic clean wiper can be provided for the room so that we can do some self cleaning. Location wise, it is very convenient, 3-5 minutes walk away from Zhongxiao Fuxing station and surrounded by lots of stores and restaurants. There are at least 2 convenience stores nearby. There was one day in the afternoon when the place ran out of hot water. Called the "landlord" and he said to let the water run for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the water was still cold so we made a call to him again. He sounded irritated and said "what is it again?" Then a lady was sent to come resolve the issue. Apparently, someone had turned off the main power for hot water. The lady was polite but the guy was not. Hence, the mixed reviews on tripadvisor I suppose. If you have more than 3 people, I'd suggest getting 2 double rooms (because everyone will have to share 1 bathroom!) For the price paid, I wouldn't mind coming back but there are many other hotels/hostels/homestay in the same area to explore too.

(+) I was travelling with my 2 friends and during our 10-day trip, among the 4 different places we stayed at, this place was their most favourite because of the size of the room. The room and bathroom was big and there was a washing machine. There was also a small balcony where you could hang your clothes to dry. The room was also clean, hot shower was great, ac worked very well, etc. It is an apartment, not a hotel, so if you are looking for a hotel service, this is not a place for you. (-) The description of how to find the place really needs an improvement. I booked it from Expedia and it didn't say anything about how to get there or how the place looked like or what to look for. Even though it's close to the Metro (Zhongxiao Fuxing, exit 1, 5-min walk), after got out of the metro, I followed the map that brought me to a building with no sign whatsoever telling me I'd arrived. There was a salon on the first floor where I decided to ask a lady for help. She walked me to the other side of the building to a security guard who then called the owner of the place to meet us. So fortunately I speak Chinese because they don't speak English.

EZ bookers fuxing A is located very near to Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT exit 1. About 2 mins walk. The room has a small sitting area with sofa and also washing machine but they do not provide detergent. U hv to buy fr the convenience store downstairs if u want to wash yr clothes. The room is clean if yr expectation is not very high. There is a peanut hawker downstairs which sells very good peanuts.

Not a good stay for couple or honeymoon. I was here with family luckily just for a night stay. First impression is that it's a just an old apartment converted home stay. I was surprised when I saw how it was renovated. It is comfortable plus very close to shopping mall and mrt. Everything seems to be fine just that no hot shower especially after a long day walk. No receptionist but the owner is attentive to your needs. Not recommended to family especially with the little one.

This is a really wow-hotel for travelers who like different quests, native experience and culture diving. We were no one from this list. We just looked for a low price hotel in a good location for a city trip. The price of the hotel was really attractive. I have to say, that location was perfect for our aim – to discover Taipei. If you like luxury, service, if you need a swimming pool, fitness and breakfast – do not go there. You will not find this. Frankly speaking, it is difficult to find this hotel itself. Yes, it has only an address, no sign, no reception. We do not speak Chinese and found it within 15 minutes after we left a cab. So, you can! If you are lost: call me, I try to explain. But first try by yourself. We got keys from a flat. Small Taipei’s flat: open kitchen studio around 16 sqm. Very cozy. You immediately feel like you live and work in Taipei for a long time. Now take a short rest and jump into the cyberpunk megapolis. The summary: I would recommend it for backpackers, city explorers and low budget tourists. You will find this place interesting, and do not be afraid of the “Google street view” pictures: it is clean, safe and comfortable. But remember, it is just a flat with a bed, aircon, TV, kitchen and bathroom. Like a service apartment, with regular bed linen’s exchange. There is no reception, no help desk, no doorman. You will just get the key from the door. Good luck and enjoy the city.

Technically this is a short-term apartment rental, so there is no reception desk at the lobby or anything like that. On the plus side, this is totally a legitimate place in case you are worried about scams. We arrived at 11pm and the representatives met with us and showed us the room, which was small but had everything that you will need. She showed us how to operate some of the stuff in the room and let us be. Every couple of days, the staff changed our towels and took out the trash while we were gone. For some reason, the hot water wasn't very hot, so we called the representative and she looked into the matter and we had hot water by the time we came back at night. The next day I was taking a shower and then the water went completely cold on me. Again, we called the representative and she moved us to another apartment on the same floor right away. Everything was fine after that. All in all, I can't complain about the people who work here. The mattresses were quite stiff for our liking, and we had to borrow some comforters from my parents to pad the bed. Even then, they were still pretty firm.

This is not a hotel, if you are looking for a hotel, please find somewhere else. This accommodation is maintain and service by individual (or a group of individuals), who bought a few rooms on a residential building and open this business. The location is very good, close to public transport and shopping malls (Sogo, Breeze). The room is clean and tidy. Room is a bit small, however, suitable for 2 people. Quite place, we did not hear any noise during our stay. Be careful if you are going to check-in on the weekend, as no one will be in the front desk and the door bell is useless (no one can hear the door bell). We need to borrow a phone and call them and wait another 5 minutes for someone to come and bring us to the room. However, the staffs are nice and helpful.

I initially confirmed my reservation at EzBookers-Fuxing 126 but ended up in another facility known as Fuxing 106. Neither location is a Hotel, but a series of flats that have been renovated into guest rooms in two different buildings near the Zhong Xiao - Fuxing Metro station. The address of the "administrative function" of the "Fuxing 106/126" is just a very small lobby of a building. There was one man manning a small counter who called another person who came down to the lobby with the room keys. He then led us across Fuxing N. Rd, down a small lane to an outer locked gate, into the locked front door, to the elevator and up to the 3rd floor, and another locked door, which led into a beautiful hallway with 5 rooms. My room was larger than most I've stayed in while in Asia, and was warmly decorated in soft tones. At first I was really concerned about the location and the building, but the rooms are beautiful and spacious. I had booked a room with a washing machine and a sofa but got neither. Each room has a refrigerator, a large flat-screen TV, A/C unit and a window to NOWHERE. The glass enclosed ensuite bathroom is adequate with a large shower stall and a multiple shower heads. The room and bathroom was extremely clean and polished. However, I did notice a little mold in the shower and more behind the wash-basin bowl that more-or-less sat on a cabinet. A good shot of Clorox would eliminate all the mold. I only received new towels twice during my 7-night stay, and NO room cleaning, e.g. trash removal, touching up of the floors, etc. The rooms are a quick 5-minute walk to the Zhong Xiao - Fuxing Metro station. The SOGO Department Stores (yes plural) are on opposite corners of the major intersecting streets. The area is filled with eateries of all types, i.e. Italian, Taiwanese, McDonalds, etc., so one wouldn't have any problems getting any type of meal throughout the day. I will definitely consider staying at EzBookers-Fuxing 106/126 next year when I return to Taipei.
