Darang Tea Estate is a beautiful heritage property and has been lovingly maintained by the hosts. The Bhandaris are attentive hosts and ensure guests are well looked after. We spent two nights here in late-May. The two-room cottage was spacious, charmingly done and very comfortable. The gardens and the tea estate are great for walking around and to just relax in. The resident dogs, Casper, Diana and Brandy, are super friendly. Especially Casper...though be careful with your socks as Casper loves to pick them up and chew them and you will get it back only after a dog biscuit bribe! Casper and Diana followed us around during all our walks and even my typically dog-shy toddler was comfortable with the dogs. The meal prices might seem high (as has been mentioned by other reviewers),…
i visited this beautiful property on a social visit to meet the lovely couple Neeru and Naveen Bhandari who are close friends to our family member. The cottages are old world charm and the property beautiful. Its like a gem tucked away in a lovely serene surrounding. Walking thru the tea estate and enjoying the charming hospitality of the lovely couple, I enjoyed every bit of my time there, sipping chilled beer and relishing delicious home made meal with freshly picked up organic veggies from their garden. I will strongly recommend this beautiful getaway to those who want to enjoy a quiet retreat and enjoy hospitality of the wonderful and friendly hosts.
We had an amazing six day retreat in the spectacular backdrop of the snow clad Dhauladhar range at Darang Tea Estate. This place is much more than a tea estate...it is a haven filled with old world charm in total harmony with nature. Our hosts, Neeru and Naveen Bhandari went out of their way to make us comfortable in every way possible, taking care of all our individual dietary needs ( for the fussy one !) An additional plus point was that most of the vegetables and herbs are all organically home grown ! We had hearty breakfasts each morning ranging from home made preserves to eggs to order . Menus were very well planned covering a variety of dishes and Neeru ensured that no item was repeated . We were specially charmed with the passion and creativity with which the Bhandari’s…
One genuine connection can make you feel at home in an unfamiliar place. We stayed at The Upper Cottage comprising of two bedrooms, a common sitting room with working fireplace, a kitchenette and a beautiful verandah. We had the most pleasant wonderful time at Darang Tea Estate, be it the beautiful tea gardens, the lovely view of snow-covered mountains and most importantly the amazing hospitality of Mrs & Mr. Bhandari. From the aesthetically done cottage to bookshelves in every possible corner with an exotic collection of books to a working fireplace (a first for me), electric blankets to the little knick-knacks that adorn the estate, everything is just amazing and inspiring. It was like this alternate universe with all things pretty. The food was again an experience in itself…
Based on the past reviews, Darang was the preferred choice for us. Many thanks to Neera Aunty and Naveen Uncle. They are wonderful hosts and very well read people. Naveen uncle has his share of rich experiences and Neera aunty took great care of food, comfortable stay and everything else. They also have two Labradors and a Pug. Casper (Lab) was the most entertaining and fun loving. He would accompany us for walks in the huge tea estate. You can do as much or as little as you like. Take a late morning walk in the estate or simply laze around. Darang also offers spectacular views of the snowcapped Dhauladhar Mountains. We stayed in the Upper Cottage having 2 rooms and a formal sitting room with a working fire place. The rooms were comfortable and electric blankets were…
