The River Retreat Just 5 minutes away from Dharamshala airport on the bank of a river and offering a majestic view of the snow clad mountains and greenery all around the river retreat is a perfect place for a holiday for nature lovers Getting there Dharamshala is well connected with Delhi by air also one flight each from Chandigarh and Jaipur is available One can also take a train up to Pathankot and a 3 hour cab drive to the hotel Volvo buses ply from various places for Dharamshala The hotel is in Gagal around 13 Km from Dharamshala and at a lower height the temperature is 5 degrees more than Dharamshala was there in May early morning and evenings were pleasant being an air conditioned hotel afternoon were comfortable indoor the advantage of higher temperature is you can visit even in winters incidentally this area is the winter capital of Himachal Pradesh The owner Mr Raj Kapoor and his entire team is very courteous My wife is very particular about the room we stay in and to my surprise within two minutes of seeing the room she said ok this is good .Thanks to Mr Kapoor with whom I had conversation before booking and informed him about what type of accommodation we are looking for he assured me that he will give me an accommodation that my wife would love and he did it. The Hotel offers rooms two bed room cottages and suites I stayed in a suite of the terrace it had two rooms one toilet cum wc and one wc next to the drawing room of the suite Rooms are spacious clean and well maintained house keeping is good Thanks to Vinod and Atul they provide you two bottles of mineral water per day extra bottles cost around Rs 50 per litre. Food. The restaurant is on the first floor it is spacious and well kept food is delicious and reasonably priced service is efficient thanks to all the boys in the team of Mr Narinder the restaurant manager specially Mr Rakesh we got the food as per our requirements buffet breakfast had a good variety and was delicious Sight seeing There is a lot to see around but for all places you have to take a cab which hotel can arrange . One trip can be to nobulinka institute and tapovan another to Dharamshala and Naddi It was my third visit to Dharamshala and I had used the services of Mr Ravinder a very nice cab owner he has a fleet of cabs and lives very close to the hotel . We used to spend the morning and evenings on the terrace and thoroughly enjoyed our trip we are looking forward to going back for a longer stay in November when Delhi is at the peak of pollution…

Money you pay doesn't justify what you will get. Dirty bedsheets, dirty bathing towels, one of towel was full of dirt, like room was cleaned using the same. Basic things like hand-towel was missing. TV operates with basic channels. Overall hygiene was way POOR. Food service was not great either, and i am talking about situation with very few guests, and still they couldn't hold strings together. I am really thinking how miserably it will be dealt with once peak season comes. Though airport is 1.4 km from hotel taxi is available for a rate of 600 INR. I paid 80% of what i paid for a ITC property in Mcleadganj which included better breakfast and buffet dinner as well, needless to mention about quality. Nice property very near gaggal Airport with all amenities. Helping front desk, nice housekeeping, tasty food.Tourist places like library of Tibetan works and archives, dharamshala cricket stadium, triund, mcleodganj, bhagsu falls, bhagsu naag temple are not far away kangra devi temple is also very near.

The entrance of the property is exact opposite of the name choosen by the property. It looks like a shabby ghat used for bathing n washing .I wish the owner adds some Real pictures .You should be 100% confident about your property if you ask us to make advance payments.We decided not to check in .

If you want luxury in your stay, courtesy in staff, amazement in every minute and pure bliss, don't look any further and book this place right away. Food: 5/5 (Super Delicious) Staff: 5/5 (Super Courteous) Ambience & Decor: 4.8/5 (Super Luxurious except their heater made some noise) View: 5/5 (Breathtaking) Pricing: 4.8/5 (A little on higher side but worth every single rupee that you would spend) Overall: 4.9/5 I went in as a customer but came out as a patron and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Hotel is located at the bank of Manji river stream. Beautiful view of river and mountains. The sound of the flowing water was calming. The staff was courteous. They did not offer buffet breakfast but a la carte. So it takes time. Only drawback, balcony was not well maintained. We had to keep standing for the view.

Splendid location close to the Kangra airport- just by the river with the majestic Dhauladhar mountain range in the background! This is a lovely resort away from the rush of Dharamshala & Mcleodgunj, yet not too far away to visit these divine destinations. The rooms are clean & comfortable. The staff are friendly and keen to make your holiday memorable.

We stayed at River Retreat for 2 days. We enjoyed our stay at hotel. The hotel has an amazing view of Dhauladhar mountains and it brings you near nature. Breakfast and dinner we took was very good and presented in a nice way. In dinner Infact they offered himachali cuisine items, which we tried and enjoyed a lot. River in front is a good time pass for all age groups and specially for photography. Roof top is again a good charm there and one can see far from the the roof, river expansion and mountains. We enjoyed the stay a lot and would recommend to all.

We Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel staff was very supportive, helpful and polite. This place was very relaxing and brings you near nature. It's a must recommend place for nature lovers and people who want to spend some time at river Bank. The sound of water is like a music to your ears if you are tired of traffic noise and pollution. Rooms are also very good and nicely cleaned and presented. Room services was extra ordinary.

We stayed at River Retreat for 3 days during our trip to Kangra and Dharamshala in May 2019. The hotel has an amazing view of the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and the river Majhi in front of it. The sound of the gurgling water is soothing and there is a cool breeze there at all times. The hotel is clean, cosy and has wonderful amenities. The rooms are excellent, staff is efficient and courteous and the food is delicious. You can sit out on the lawn overlooking the river or enjoy some of the other facilities there. It has excellent connectivity being only 5 minutes from Gaggal airport and is well connected with the towns of Kangra and Dharamshala. All in all, a memorable experience and true value for money
