For a hotel that ranks somewhere between two and three stars, the ARK is an excellent choice for those prioritizing location in Taipei. Located walking distance to two major subway lines, the hotel is also adjacent to Da'an park as well as local eats, making it a great place to drop off your bags and head off to explore Taipei. The hotel is able to offer tour options from the front desk, however, these services are provided by a travel agent. I have already stayed at the ARK twice for relatively long trips (>5 days each), and having the laundry machine available is a huge luxury in my opinion. There is only one machine and its shared by everyone, so you might have to wait which is annoying, but going home with clean clothes is one less thing to worry about. It also means that when I travel, I don't have to carry as many clothes with me. The bathroom provides all the basic amenities except body lotion. Would recommend you bring some from home.…

In the beginning, I booked 1 night as I only need it for late check-in as I booked it last minute before we flight to Taiwan as we will arrived at early morning around 3AM. Then at the same day, I extend it as we need to sleep more as the check out is 12noon and we haven't have enough sleep yet since I arrived, instead of keeping us on the same room, they ask us to check out and we have to move to other room at 3pm.

If you care at all about customer service I highly recommend you do not stay at this property. Hotel 73 just around the corner is a much better choice. We stayed 2 nights in room 301, and decided to extend by one night. The hotel was unwilling to find a way to allow us to stay in our same room for the 3rd night. They said that someone had already booked our room so we were not allowed to stay in this room. I asked them if the hotel was sold out. It was not. I asked them if the rooms of this category were sold out. They were not. Thus, I am extremely confused as to why this room specifically cannot be extended. If we cannot pay extra money and cannot move rooms at noon time, even if a room is not prepared and receive nothing but poor attitude from hotel staff, we truly cannot recommend this property. Room and everything was very comfortable. The location was ideal and a great place to get around the city. Really no complaints for a fantastic place to stay and provides a good place to rest. I should note, however, the offered breakfast is pretty simple as just a selection of various fast foods. But still a nice touch.

First time in Taipei and a friend recommended I stay around the Dongmen Station area hence why I chose this hotel, and extremely happy I did! AMAZING location close to restaurants, shopping areas, ATM facilities, 7-11 store not to mention the original Din Tai Fung and a 2 minute walk to Dongmen station. Room's werent huge but had everything a solo traveler could want, including wifi and large TV. Also had FREE laundry facilities on the fifth floor which I have never come across in a hotel before! The best thing however was the service, with the night concierge Evan and his colleagues super helpful in giving tips on local places to go, best ways to get around, sights to see, translations for taxi drivers etc.. Cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be staying there on my next trip back to Taipei.…

The place is really convienent, hotel is located 1 min away from the metro and 711 next to it and the rates of the hotel is afforable. Staff are friendly and hotel is really clean. Will stay here again

I have to say the location is excellent. But the room itself is so, so tiny that we couldn't open our suitcase. If one of us (my husband and I) needed to move around the other had to sit on top of the bed. Breakfast was ordered from other places and placed on a table for guests to pick up - not very desirable. Coffee was decent. Staff all looked like students and you can tell that they haven't received any training - very unprofessional. Just like Kenton The Traveler had said, we would not stay here again.

Excellent location, spacious and comfortable rooms, very nice showers. Bare bones reception area but they offer free breakfast from various places daily and coffee/tea. There were some delicious crackers and candy in our room as well as some tea bags. Loved Ark Hotel!

Near the airport express coach stop (evergreen bus) and a short walk to a couple of MRT stops. Nice area for a centre stop, access to sites and food .... although Taipei is a very convenient city. Clean and functional rooms, friendly staff and simple but good breakfast
