This Padre Burgos property is more like a private luxury residence than a resort. A handful of rooms are laid-out in an elegant semi-circular building bordering a beautiful garden with small pool. There is a 10m drop-off to a lovely beach, surrounded by impressive boulders,...More

Thank you so much for your feedback, and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us despite the rainy weather experienced throughout the Philippines at that time. It is always extremely frustrating for us to read comments posted after the event about issues...More

I discovered the Padre Burgos Castle Resort whilst working in the humanitarian emergency, 160kms to the north, in Tacloban. It was hard to imagine that such a corner of paradise could be found within a couple of hours' drive down the coast from scenes of...More

We stayed for 5 days at the lovely Padre Burgos Castle Resort: a paradise situated in the district of Southern Leyte, far away from the routes of mass tourism. The structure, certainly higher in standard than other accommodation in the area, offers the best you...More

Padre Burgos a castle fit for royalty. We had a fantastic time at David and Delia's wonderful place. The location was stunning and it had one of the best small pools we have ever experienced. The food was amazing and the service of the staff...More

Hi David and Delia, We're hoping you might be able to provide some answers to help me with planning, even after reading all the reviews and responses. Can I say you come across really well on here, perhaps the nicest resort owners in Leyte, so really hoping we will be able to organise a stay at Padre Burgos Castle Resort. Our questions are 1) How do we get to your resort? To give you an idea I'm flying in from Manila and will likely take a quick flight to Calbayog to meet up with friends in the north-west of Samar. This is my first time so would appreciate any help with nearest airports, bus routes etc 2) How can we explore the area once we are at the resort? I read there are boat trips to nearby islands which sound wonderful. Can we hire bikes and take other forms of transport? 3) Can you recommend what to do based on 2-3 day stay in the area? We're heading back north to Manila via road for the return leg so this will be as far south as we come, so it will be nice to relax but also we want to make the most of the cooler parts of the day. In fact from what i've heard the time to sleep is during the mid-morning and afternoon sun! Is that right in April-May? Thanks for your time, and we hope to see you very soon! P.s. we can't wait to try both sets of pillows to see what all the fuss is about hehe J & W
