I called to hotel about the coronavirus and asked for a free cancellation on 7th Feb at 6pm ish which the staff told me that they can offer me for free as long as I contact my agent before 29th Feb. And they denied that right now, but please tell me how can I enter your country?
Small boutique hotel in an old area. Not the closest to MRT stops but it means you can to see and experience a bit if the local life walking to and from the hotel. Very quiet and pleasant too. Decent sized rooms, massive shower area. And not a huge hotel so has a nice family / community vibe to it. Only 10 or so minutes on the bus to Taipei Main Station to take the train to the airport. Really enjoyed my stay here.
Be warned. This hotel is unsafe, and the management of this hotel chain are dishonest and do not follow through on their promises. The showers in the rooms do not drain properly and are dangerous; water pools and the tiles are very slippery – certainly would not be accepted by western standards. There are no signs indicating a potential slip hazard, no grab bars, and no grading to allow the water to drain properly so it just sits on the floor until it evaporates. As a result, an accident happened in which someone was hurt. The hotel management refused to speak to me. They sent an ambulance chaser to the hospital and attempted to enter the surgical unit, which was a clear violation of privacy and an attempt to try and mitigate liability. While we were at the hospital, they sent staff into our room without our knowledge or permission to take photographs. They would not provide a phone number, or an email address to contact a manager. When I finally managed to get a hold of a manager (by mass emailing all the hotels in the city), I was promised (via my proxy) – repeatedly, and on multiple occasions - that the hotel would pay the hotel bills for the injury. The management refused to speak to me directly and would only speak to a mandarin speaker, despite the fact that I had spoken English to the staff there on each and every one of the prior visits to their hotel. The bills frankly did not even amount to a large amount of money, but it was a lie to buy time until I left the country. After leaving Taiwan, I have reached out to the hotel and the management repeatedly and have not received any replies. It has been months, and I know at this point they had never intended to honor their promise. The craziest part of this is that the amount of money was so small, and I have stayed at their hotel so many times before – as do my relatives who visit Taipei often and now also choose to stay elsewhere. A simple gesture of goodwill that was promised could have saved them thousands of dollars (USD) of revenue over the course of the next couple years, but instead they chose the low road… and the path which makes zero sense economically for their business. Don’t let the looks fools you, the folks who run this place are not to be trusted. Memories fade, but scars last forever.…
Everything about this hotel was great. The morning breakfast (I enjoyed the food). The location was good and it was just a 10 mins walk to the subway. The staff here was also very friendly and nice. Although there was a bit of a language barrier because I don't speak Mandarin, the people here were very patient and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who is staying in Taiai.
It's very clean and in a great location. There are two subway lines nearby as well as a family mart and a 711. It's convenient to visit the sites like Chang Kai Shek Memorial. The best thing is that Taiwan is much cleaner and better than mainland China.
The newly established hotel, near the very quiet but close to the residential consumption point。 5 floors high,we booked 4 rooms with 2 large bed with a small terrace; the space is very adequate, very suitable for family. Breakfast is not a buffet but good enough. The receptionist and service support is very good. 5 minutes walk from the 7-11 convenience store, 15 minutes from the MRT. Taxi drivers are not familiar with this new hotel.
It's just about 10~15 min walk from the nearest MTR with which you can get access to anywhere in just minutes. There is a food market around the corner open daily from early afternoon till late night, in which you'll find some local tastes. The room size is moderate, clean and well maintained. The minute you walk into the lobby it gives you the feeling of cosy and relax. Lady staff behind the desk is exceptionally helpful with cheerful smile.
