Very good service, very accomodating staff, especially when I requested for a day extension, I was given a lower rate. Just a few blocks away from Taipei 101. There's a grocery store in the basement and a 7-11 and Mos Burger at the ground. Just a few steps from the bus stop. Ample restaurants nearby and a very good bakery store a corner across. If given a chance to come back, I will choose this hotel again. Economical and practical. Though it is in the 5th floor of an old building, there are 2 elevators and the rooms are very nice.

All things were good about this place - the location, the value, and the room looked good. BUT! CLEAN YOUR SHEETS! EWWW -_- My colleague suffered an infection. She was doubtful at first that there were sh@t stains on the bed sheet. But in hindsight... details need not be mentioned... they were! Please don't do this

My family (2adults 3kids) had a very interesting experience about this hotel especially my wife and kids. They thought I was taking them to a shady underground mafia hideout after they saw the entrance and the caretaker at 1st floor. I purposely didn’t tell them ahead of time so I can see their funny reactions lol. When we got up there at 5th floor they were shocked how nice it is, the receiving area is carpeted and wood furnished. Room is modernized, card key, nice choice of tile floor and wall. Strong hot/cold shower pressure (it gets really hot if you wanted to), towels provided. Free hygiene stuff. Nice air-condition. 3pm-11am is the check-in & check-out time. I had to pay extra to adjust our check out time because our flight out is at 0840pm. You can also leave your luggage at the waiting area if you don’t want to pay extra (I just found that out when we’re about to leave) it’s really up to you. The 5th floor concierge are young friendly English speaking. I can see a lot of teenage/young travelers on a budget will love this place. The hotel’s location is very strategic. They don’t offer breakfast because it’s surrounded by fast foods and restaurants just right outside the hotel 1st floor. It’s a 15 minutes walk to Taipei 101, kids really had fun! (Wish I had taken photos before my kids trashed the room.. but oh well..) Highly Recommended Hotel! You will not regret!

Initially we had quite a shock when the taxi brought us to this place as it is located on the 5th floor of an old ugly grotty looking building. We entered the lobby and again it was pretty unpleasant like those old Hong Kong office buildings about 40 years ago, and we got into the lift to reach the 5th floor. When the lift door opened things were different and the place looked clean and modern. I wouldn't call it a backpackers as there are no facilities here, but it you want a clean reasonably spacious room in the city and spend most of your time outside, then this really is a nice place to stay. The good thing about this place is that it is located about 15 minutes walking distance to Taipei 101 and all the excellent shopping malls in the Xinyi area of downtown Taipei. Right outside the place is a Mos Burger, 7-Eleven and all sorts of shops selling food, so the location is pretty good. Also, this is a non-smoking hotel We were shown a twin room with two large beds and bathroom and a decent sized television. However, this room was facing the main road and it was a bit noisy. All the rooms are supplied with 4 pairs of earplugs. So we asked if they had a quieter room and they gave us one on the back of the building that was both larger and quieter. The airconditioning, WiFi and large flat screen tv all worked well. The beds were actually very comfortable so we all slept well. And the bathroom was well enough equipped and had a great shower with a powerful jet. The room has plenty of international sockets that accept European. UK and American plugs. An there is a kettle and 4 bottles of water. The great thing about this place is that it is really well located. We spent two nights here and really enjoyed it. The place does not have any facilities at all, but being within walking distance to the main shopping district and having very helpful staff made the stay pleasant. Even some taxi drivers knew this place. There is an airport bus that stops a short taxi ride away (No.1960) beside the Grand Hyatt Hotel and costs NT$145 for adults and NT$70 for children. My only complaint is that when we were preparing to check out and looked under the beds for things we might have left behind, we noticed it was really very dirty under there. All the staff were young, friendly and very helpful, especially Yvonne who was very pleasant and helped us a lot.
