Innkeeper was rude, unhelpful, and inflexible. Facilities need serious cleaning and renovation. (room smelled of mold) They made it clear they wanted us out of there by 11am sharp. Location and availability is the only plus.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location. But if you want a quiet stay, this hotel is not for you. It is located right on the night market. The owner's father is a grumpy old man who has no customer service skills. There is no elevator, so you have to walk up the stairs. Nobody helps with luggage. The washroom is a joke, there is no separate shower. So everything is soaking wet after the first person takes a shower. There is no safe in the room. Lizards run around the room....gross
This hotel is basic but good. It is clean and the staff are friendly. The location is great, right in the center of the famed night market. The rooms are comfortable, a/c, tv, clean linens and soft pillows. Coffee and water are always available as well.
No wonder there are vacancies when all other hotels are booked up; this place is disgusting! First of all, we waited a good 10 minutes at the front desk for someone to show up. There is no elevator to the top floor so you have to haul your suitcase climbing several flights of stairs. The "bathroom" consists of a wash basin, toilet, and a hand held shower on the wall 4 feet high (no separation from the other fixtures); there are two hand towels provided. The really bad part is the hair on the freshly made bed AND the dead bug. Yikes!!! The front desk told me the rooms we got were the best they had to offer because they are quiet and nice view - I can't imagine what the other rooms look like. We left within 15 minutes and front desk refused to refund the money, told me there was nothing they could do?!…
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and it was ok but I think it's better for young groups of people. The location is right on the main street of Kenting which is pretty lively at night time. As our room only had a window facing inside the hotel we didn't hear much noise from the street. The room itself was large, with 2 double beds. It was also very clean, although the walls were quite scuffed. But the beds were possibly some of the hardest I've ever slept on. The bathroom was fine except it was a wet room so you just had a shower in the bathroom (there was no separate shower area) which meant the whole bathroom was then soaking wet for quite a while. The guy who worked at reception was very friendly and enjoyed practising his English with us. He also helped us arrange scooter hire which we appreciated. The breakfast was pretty bad for Westerners. You had a coupon for a small cafe a few doors down and from what we could gather the menu consisted of bread and ham, or omelette and ham. So after breakfast we'd then head down to the "shark cafe" and end up buying a pretty expensive, but more filling, breakfast each morning.…
