I recently went on an Ananda yoga retreat at Sugar Beach. It is a beautiful, quiet resort on a gorgeous cove. All the people who worked there were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The rooms were very clean and inviting, and the grounds were amazing ~ beautifully landscaped and filled with the wonder of the natural habitat ~ birds, monkeys, iguanas...

You hit our concept of hospitality very clearly: Clean rooms, delicious food, beautiful grounds, and pleasant, authentic staff available for tips and directions on what to do around the area. Glad to hear you found a perfect getaway in Costa Rica. Please visit us soon!

We booked this hotel online based on location. Sadly the drive to it is very convoluted and it was the end of a very long day, but we were very happy when we arrived! The list of perks that was rhymed off to us when we arrived are too numerous to name, and we didn't use a lot of them,...

We are so glad to hear that we met your expectations for your family visit - especially with little ones around. It is quite a pleasure so hear that the amenities and the service made the stay pleasant. A little over a year, the road to Sugar Beach has been completely paved and finished if you come through Huacas and...

We live in a world of billions. Travelers cross paths with others many times a day, most often without notice, comment or really much impact. The Hotel Sugar Beach on Playa Pan de Azucar, near Potrero, Costa Rica, is remarkable, at an essentially an private beach, Howler monkeys in the trees, iguanas scrabbling in rain gutters like Chihuahuas skittering across...

We were more than honored to be part of your one-in-a-lifetime experience. As a boutique hotel, we try to be as flexible as we can to accommodate your special moments and build great memories. Just spent 7 days at the Hotel Sugar Beach. Great private feel, but still close enough to Portrero, Brasilito, Flamingo and others. We rented the beach house. Perfect for our large family group. Steps away from the beach. Wildlife was abundant. The beach was sandy, warm water, and the waves were decent for our group 7yrs old to 70. Pool...

We ended our 10 night Costa Rican trip with a 3 night stay at Hotel Sugar Beach. After being in a house on a huge flat beach, this was a total change in atmosphere. The hotel and casitas are on a jungle hillside that slopes right down to the white, sandy/rocky beach. As a result, just about everyone has an...

So good to hear that we were a great closing to a nice vacation in Costa Rica! We also believe that our property is unique and the slope do add the movie theater style view of the ocean and nature. We have heard good reviews from other customers about our new specials and fresh ingredients, so, we are honored to...

Could not ask for a better first stop along the pacific coast of Guanacaste. It set the tone for the rest of our vacation which was both enriching and rejuvenating. The front desk, wait and bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Delicious food, clean room, scenic views and a private beach. What more can one ask for. The only...

If you really want to enjoy a quiet and peaceful place, in contact with nature and excellent food, go to this hotel. No restaurants, hotels and other places near to it, that´s it´s main attraction ... PURA VIDA!

Have been to the restaurant several times. I believe it changed ownership about a year or so ago. The service is back to its old ways- professional and timely. The food, especially the fish items, is fresh and very reasonably priced. The view form the indoor seating area to the beach is beautiful. This is a great place for a...

This hotel is perfectly situated on a "private" beach. The beach is good for swimming. The sunsets are amazing. They have also a beautiful infinity pool. The room were big and comfortable. The waiters in the restaurant don't speak good English and served our starter at the same time than the main meal. The food was OK but nothing extraordinary....

My hUsband and I stayed at this resort last week. Rooms were nice. We were upgraded to a Master Suite and it was huge. We didn't use the one room as it wasn't air conditioned. Thank you for sharing your experience. Your stay was over a weekend we feared it might not be as quiet as we strive to be! Although the quiet disappointed, we hope you enjoyed your friends wedding.
