Excellent Indian food and knowledge from guide leaders. Very relaxing. We saw elephants, huge red squirrels, water buffalo, boars, etc. I swam in the pool surrounded by cows, spotted deer and goats. Was there with group trip by Intrepid.

We enjoyed staying at the jungle retreat where the staff took good care of us. The setting encourages interactions with other travelers and we met great people there. It was exciting to know we were in the middle of the wildlife and an elephant came to visit 2 nights in a row when we were staying there.

The resort is located in the deep woods of the jungle at masinagudi, its what one would call literally living in the jungle would feel like, you can see animals right from the window of the room, the property is big but not fenced so you will have to watch out when you step out of the room, the food...

This trip broke my stereotypical way of what I always presumed a weekend getaway to a place like this would be. The rooms are simple yet cozy and very comfortable. We had opted for a standard room and were upgraded to a deluxe thanks to the management there :) The hospitality is amazing. The staff, manager (Mr.Rohit) as well the...

Good: Rooms - Very spacious, cosy and luxiorios in the middle of the jungle. Location : Excellent Con's Food is good, but very costly for my liking. 1700 to 2000 rs per head is not worth it. I would ask the management to do something about this.

We stayed here in December 2016 with family (including an infant). We were very apprehensive, initially, about our baby and certain restrictions of the management on feeding in the rooms. But the staff were very concerned and ensured that we had a comfortable stay. Check-in & Check-out was very smooth and we enjoyed Mr. Mani’s presentation. Rooms are very large,...

The staff were generally good and the local drives were good on the public roads, but we didn't realise that to do the main game drives in the park , where you might see tigers, it is a long ,winding, bumpy 50 minute drive to get to where the safaris go from . i wish we had chosen a place...

Our family stayed in Tree House #2, and it was a trip we will never forget. My son (8) has already asked to go back more than once! Where to start? The rooms: The tree house is comfortable and offers an amazing experience. How often do you get to stay up in the treetops? The balcony is the best part....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Jungle Retreat is a family-run resort, that offers a range of country-style cottages, that suit different budgets, while catering to a similar mindset. Insulated within 35 Acres of carefully cultivated and nurtured biodiversity, Jungle Retreat is a haven for wildlife and has come a long way since its beginnings in 1996 when it was barren farmland. Being family-run, service is personalised, informal yet professional. Jungle Retreat does not take Corporate bookings or all male groups, so you can be assured of an ambiance that does not remind you of work and appeals even to the single female traveller. Food is laid out in buffet-style. Menus are set twice a day after taking into consideration guest preferences and allergies. Activities like safaris and walks may be customised with the in-house activities in-charge and are organised within the parameters stipulated by the Forest Department and government agencies. Activities are subject to availability and weather conditions. Jungle Retreat has house pets (cats and dogs) that have always been with the family. Having encouraged wildlife on the campus, house-rules are to be adhered to for the safety of our guests. ... more   less
