We arrived on the first boat on a Friday morning, and there was hardly any accommodation left on Long Beach. (Lesson learnt: book ahead!) We found Lemongrass toward the end of Long Beach. We got a simple wooden hut, furnished with two single beds and a standing fan. There is only electricity at night and mid-day. There is also a...

We stayed here with 7 girls and booked 3 chalets next to each other. We had the luck to arrive on friday morning and at the beginning of the high season so still had enough choice of rooms. The chalets are very very basic like written before a kingsize bed, musquito net and a fan. Too be honest I am...

The above is a direct quote, said to me and my girlfriend by the hostel's manager, in response to our delay in telling him our leaving date. He came over to our chalet in the afternoon and asked when we planned to check out, we asked if we could tell him in the morning before the hostel opened. He then...

We stayed at Lemon Grass for 5 nights having trailed Long Beach and deciding that this was the best option for our stay on the island. We had a chalet on the front which meant that we had a lovely view of the beach from the chalet balcony, only a few steps away from the beach and we were also...

I love staying at this chalet! It's basic (I don't need air condition) and its clean. There's hammock for each room so I can just hang out and read outside of the room. The owner is super friendly with guests and if he's up to it, he'll take you to go snorkeling. You'll be surprise of what you can see...

I stayed here on the 9th August 2013 for 3 nights. The owner was really helpful and genuinely seemed to care about the trouble we were having finding accommodation. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and only steps away from the beach. I would defiantly recommend staying here.

We had a room for 70RM per night which included a double bed with mosquito net, a fan and a small porch with two chairs. What I really liked were the lockers at the reception that you could rent for 15RM for your entire stay. The shared shower and toilet were outside, and you have to flush the toilet yourself...

These were the words the manager actually said to us on arriving at this accommodation. 'Unbelievably rude'. I think he has lost the plot. The Perhentian Islands are bursting at the seams and the hotels have the pick of their guests....and the prices go up daily. With welcome in ten different languages written on the steps to the hotel...we have...

We didn't mind that the beds (sheets and pillows) were not clean, nor that there were rats in the showers. We didn't mind that the outside shared toilets were cleaned by throwing water at them, nor that we had to buy our bed sheets and towels. It was ok for us that the food was far below average compared to...

We arrived in the morning around 7.30AM, and it was so nice to have a room an hour later. The bungalow itself is very basic: a bed, mosquito net, a small table, and outside you have two chairs and a hammock. Toilets and showers are shared, basic and ok. Breakfast was great: you should try the French toast or the...
