Nestled on a serene beachfront, Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach is lauded for its peaceful atmosphere and modern comforts, with many guests enjoying the spacious rooms and picturesque setting. While the hotel's amenities, such as the beautiful beach and various dining options, are generally well-received, concerns have been raised about aging facilities and high food and beverage prices.
Service at the hotel is often commended for being friendly, although reports of understaffing suggest room for improvement. The hotel's cleanliness is a standout feature, with most areas kept immaculate.

Very cool staff, delicious food, timely cleaning, well-groomed area 👍 The location is top, not noisy at the very beginning of the beach! There is a large parking lot, if you rent a car or a bike, there will be no problems where you park, the concierge service is excellent! I definitely recommend this hotel for a family holiday!

The Novotel fell short of the expectations of the global network. An ordinary hotel, as written earlier and indeed very unfresh room stock. Renovation of the rooms really wouldn't have hurt a long time ago.
The hotel location for those who do not plan to rent a bike or car is not the most convenient. To the nearest water stand or whatever walks decently. For 15-20 minutes along the sea, if you follow the main road, the distance is three.
There's a Delmar cafe-restaurant nearby, the nearest place to hang out and eat.
The beach is the first line, but the river flows into the sea, the smell is not the best, you have to go a little left towards the hotel intercontinental and the situation is better.
Breakfast isn't super, but tolerable, you can't stay hungry.
There's no territory as such, all around a little pool that has kids and adults in it. Bar cocktails are delicious )
Footwash on the way out of the sea and really black hose ))) as written below.
In the room in the shower you should nail some really shelf, shampoos, razor and everything else had to be put on the floor((

I could have rated this resort 2 notches higher but the stench from the creek right beside the hotel can’t be overlooked. The stench also attracted flies which managed to enter the restaurant.
Food: 1. Breakfast buffet was decent and served fresh fruits and specialty milk teas. 2. Ala carte lunch & dinner menu was great and served a good variety of Thai dishes. 3. Friday seafood buffet was delectable and served fresh oysters, rock lobsters, sashimi, squid, etc…
Pool Villa: 1. Our private pool villa was heated and was far away from stench of the creek. 2. Rooms were nice & tidy but could use a little updating.
Beach: 1. The beachfront could use some early morning rakes to remove debris from incoming waves.
Service: 1. Receptionists were welcoming and made sure our check-in & check-out experiences were seamless. 2. Restaurant was properly manned by courteous and attentive servers.
We might consider coming back to this place only if the stench from the creek is addressed.

Staying here currently. Good location ( quiet end of Kamala ) and can visit nice restaurants and bars next door. The place itself - disappointing . Very tired, rundown. Unsafe old broken wood stairs everywhere around pool.. We had 3 rooms and all equally rundown, broken fittings and fixtures. Small pool too crowded so I avoided as personally I hate that but doesn’t worry others clearly, but at least have the lovely beach. No sun chairs for guests on beach which was odd. Smelly little river that runs along side exit to beach- can step over easily though. Staff all very nice but reception feels too large and not welcoming, dirt and leaves blowing around and again couches are worn and felt unloved. Bad first impression. Gym- very annoying that it’s used as a thoroughfare for staff and guests walking through from building to outside. Never seen a resort do this !! Very bad .. cannot exercise in peace or privacy .. many guests rude and leave doors open as they enter and exit .. this should NOT be a thoroughfare for passers by to stare at those exercising !! Roof top bar lovely vibe and view with a fun billiard table which my boys enjoyed. Good buffet brekky but chairs worn and stained… just feels odd. Feels like Novotel ‘ripping you off’ in that sense. We’ve stayed at many resorts in Asia over the years and yes this had pretty gardens and views but the complex itself has not weathered well and seems to be not much maintenance. Other than that greedy guests that are lazy and leave pool towels on chairs to mind all day or can’t be bothered returning them to dirty basket .. pool attendants just leave so all looks a bit of a shambles by 2 pm ! So a lot of here is personal preference. and what your willing to accept. I have a lovely view of beach on ocean side and peace but I don’t like the unsafe broken wood decking and stairs around pool, the dirty plastic hoses to wash your feet off the beach ( only one shower and it’s not near the stairs off the beach ) I don’t like worn out everywhere fixtures and fittings.. I’m paying enough and expect better than that ! Up to you :)

We checked in late and the reception staff were more concerned with setting up the "Digital Concierge" than allowing us to our room. I paid for an upgrade to the 1 bed pool villa, the pool is on the roof and due to the design the room is very small, dark and like a concrete bunker! Luckily the hotel were able to change us to an Ocean Suite the following day. I was told on 2 separate occasions by 2 different reception staff that the price difference would be credited upon check out, this did not happen and despite numerous emails to clarify I have now given up. The Ocean suite was very nice, had everything we needed. I had an accident on our 2nd night at the hotel and I have to say that the staff were very helpful to me and my husband, this was the positive in our stay. Location wise the hotel is just a bit too far away from the restaurants and bars, it's a good 10 mins walk across the beach/boardwalk and parts of it are not lit so a head torch is a must or as we did, walked out and got a taxi back. I enjoyed Kamala, it has a beautiful beach and we had some lovely meals and drinks out so would definitely go back but would not stay at the Novotel again. We booked an airport transfer 48 hours before we left for 6.30am, we decided to double check as the reception staff did not fill us with confidence and I'm very glad we did because they had no record of it! We were given an excuse of a "system error" but I'm sceptical to say the least. Reception staff are too easily distracted and do not concentrate at all on what they are doing. I can only think that 2 years shutdown has caused this, they need training back up to a decent level of customer service.

I stayed here for the Phuket Sandbox and was impressed by the trip overall. The hotel rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious but do lack a 5 star finish, in that the walls were chipped as was the balcony floor. The service maids were incredible, as were the reception and bar staff who were always on hand and served room service until 11:30pm. The location was wonderfully secluded with direct access to the beach. Restaurants were within walking distance, but I would advise hiring a scooter if you are alone as walking the beach at night can be daunting. The main centre is walkable but along a busy road. The rooms offered value for money and the facilities were great, with access to a gym, rooftop bar and a restaurant providing enough entertainment that you didn't really need to leave the site. I would say that the food is average and slightly overpriced.

Clean and fresh hotel by the beach. Good varied breakfast was served. The pool area was invaded early in the morning by mostly Russians who put out towels (which were not removed by the staff despite being indicated on the sign at the pole) which meant that we always went a bit further to the beach instead where there were sunbeds to rent cheaply! Food and drinks at the hotel were significantly more expensive than the restaurants around Kamala centre. The barbecue buffet that was served one evening a week was a big disappointment with cold food and a long wait for the food to be refilled.

Hi i chose the jaccuzi villa by the sea side . Me and my wife could have an quiet private time together. There is a larger pool accessible for everyone If we wanted to use the pool. But once again the staff are so helpfull they alowed us to view and pay the balance at the hotel but upon availability. We were lucky as the jaccuzi one was available .
There are more places to choose from in the Kamala area.
