In the small town of Meymac you are in real French rural country. The hotel Meymacois echoes this - the owners Gilles and Muriel are so hospitable and will go out of their way to help you. Nice fresh food (in spite of having to cater for the large group who were staying.) Typical rustic French hotel- don't expect a... More

Some places may not have lots of stars, and it would be easy to be critical on this basis, but they have something else, the warmth of their welcome and owners for which nothing was too much trouble. We were a party of 25 on a singing tour in the area, and will never forget the good humour and genuine... More

Cannot speak highly enough of Gilles and Muriel the hotel owners, nothing was too much trouble for them when they were faced with a party of over 20 from Bournemouth Male Voice Choir. They helped make this trip a very memorable one. The location is perfect, the little town of Meymac was beautiful and the local people so friendly. It... More

We have just returned from a really good time in France staying four nights at this very friendly hotel. Muriel and Gilles are excellent hosts, they even managed to produce a very tasty meal for 22 people when the whole area had lost it electricity in a thunder storm. The hotel is very friendly with really good food, Gilles produces... More

My husband and I stayed at Le Meymacois for one night when the weather was so wet, we couldn't face another night in the tent! We were made to feel extremely welcome. The room was basic, but very clean and comfortable and the food in the restaurant was great. What made the stay so special was the owners and staff... More

“Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter than the rooms on the main road frontage.”

“Just ask Muriel she has excellent English and will offer you the best room she has available.”

“Since the lorries have been using the route, it is a little noisier on the road side, but it didn't really disturb us. The doors didn't fit the cupboards very well, so if that's the sort of thing that irritates, it may be worth asking to see the room first.”
