This is a fantastic place full of charm and character. This traditional stone and wood-beamed farmhouse, surrounded by apple orchards, is very peaceful and comfortable in a setting just above a small, quaint village which clings to a hillside near a river.
The posada is surrounded by amazing views of the snow-capped Picos mountains which appeared to be only a stones throw away from the balcony of our room. We were also invited to use the downstairs patio/gardens to relax and take in the views.Horse riding trips in the local hills were available next door.

Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained and our hostess's lack of English was no great barrier as she was very helpful and accommodating. She made a delicious breakfast, homemade pancakes, with honey from the posada which tasted of the local apple trees, and cake! We would heartily recommend this place which was also very good value for money. Hope it will still be when return, after this review!

We were a group of 6 motorcyclists heading from the ferry at Santander through the Picos mountains. Arriving in the evening we had to find a hotel in relatively close proximity to the port, with twin rooms and secure motorcycle parking. I found this hotel and what a find it was.

In a quite and serene location this friendly hotel is family owned, decorated to a very high standard and is without doubt worthy of the high score which I have given. There is a local bar, restaurant just a 10 minute walk away. Be warned it is at the top of a very steep track and would not be suitable for the elderly or vey young to walk.

Would I go again? Yes!!

We stayed here for five nights while exploring the Picos. We were a little concerned by the other reports of the steep access but we managed it in our little car and it was well worth it. It is a wonderful place, peaceful with stunning views. The mother and son who run the place are very welcoming and friendly. There are areas to sit outside to relax and even though English is limited they will offer advice. The rooms were comfortable. There is wifi which worked ok. The lovely town of Potes is closeby.

Our host Antonio, who speaks some English, was most helpful during our stay, we particularly enjoyed his freshly cooked local pancakes and mountain honey for breakfast - absolutely scrummy !
There is an "honesty" area/fridge in the common room, where guests can avail themselves of wine, beer & soft drinks, a really nice touch.
Even if you aren't a hiker, make the effort to walk up the tracks behind the Posada, it is worth it for the lovely views of the surrounding moutains and countryside.

Just a special place, the inn itself is charming with sitting areas, terraced back yard complete with ponies neighing. The owners a delight, helpful and I even got a cooking lesson on how to make Spanish pancakes. So calming after a long drive through the mountains. Wish I could have stayed longer! A must place to stay if you are in the area. Claudia

Absolutely love this place and well worth the drive up the mountain! Love it for the serenity and beauty of the mountains, for the hospitality and helpfulness of the owners and for the clean and well kept rooms and facility. The last 400 m is a steep drive, but as long as you make a left turn after the first steep hill you will be fine ( I made a right turn which put me in a tricky situation trying to turn around). Owners incredibly helpful and nice!

A beautiful mountain location. A comfortable large farmhouse with two cosy sitting rooms for guests, and lovely seating outside in the extensive garden.
The hosts were most helpful in giving us details of walks, restaurants etc. Antonio is very knowlegable about the wild life of the area, and is always ready to help.
We were encouraged to have our own picnic meal in the garden in the evening. We had fruit and cheese and ate the Menu del dia in local restaurants at 2pm. This saved us a great deal of money, and we really enjoyed it.

We stayed 4 nights at this lovely rural hotel. The hotel itself is a converted farmhouse that has been in the owners family for over 100 years and has been carefully converted to create a charming hotel in a fantastic setting. The gardens, overlook rolling hills with mountains as a backdrop, are the perfect place to admire the beautiful lanscape after a days walking or just to re-charge ones batteries.
However, Antonio and his mother Angela are what really set this hotel apart. They are perfect hosts and really informative about local walks and sights. Antonio provided great recommendations for family walks and drew us maps.
Breafast is simple and generous, (our kids particularly liked the spanish pancakes), and includes the delicious honey provided by Antonio's bees.
An honesty bar is provide, which Antonio stocked with local cider after we mentioned we'd enjoyed some on a day out, and also came with a lesson in how to pour it Asturian style!
The hotel is small and intimate and perfect for those looking to get away from the crowds and the only difficulty was having to leave at the end of our stay. I would certainly return when we visit the area again.
My only regret is that we came home with only one jar of that delicious honey.

We stayed 4 nights. The Posada was easy to find a we parked under cover. Breakfast is €6 and you get juice, toast, fruit, local cake and Pancakes, tea/coffee. They let us store cheeses we bought in their fridge. You can buy beer (€1) and wine €6. They also make their own jam which you can buy. The mother and son who run the place are very helpful and very courteous. You can relax inside or out with great views.
