Forsyth Lodge, Satpura is a stylish and an environmentally friendly lodge that is engaged with the park management and the local community in a pioneering effort to create an unprecedented jungle experience in one of the most exciting tiger habitats in the world. This is an effort to create an exceptional wilderness experience for those who truly revel in wild places far from the jeep borne hordes that have defaced so many other parks. Here we provide you with an opportunity to explore the jungle on foot, by canoes, jeeps and motorized boats. You can also experience the nocturnal creatures that the jungles reveal by sitting in our machaan which is set in the 44 acres of wilderness around the lodge. We have also been awarded the highest PUG rating for our outstanding environment friendly operations by Tour Operators For Tigers, TOFT.

Our group of four spent four nights at Forsyth Lodge. The lodge and the staff were absolutely amazing. Our room was incredible. It was large and comfortable and additionally, it had another open air room on top of it, with another large bed (complete with insect netting), if you preferred to spend a night closer to nature. Meals at Forsyth Lodge were treated as an event. We ate in different areas of the lodge, including the dining room, poolside and in a very cool BBQ area a short walk from the bungalows, which they set up beautifully. They had an excellent and fast laundry service and our wakeup call included a delivery of coffee and/or tea. Breakfast was served on the road, during our safari.

Our guide, Animesh, was amazing. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area, which was quite abundant. We even spotted wildlife around the lodge and on our way to the game drives. All and all, Forsyth Lodge and Satpura Tiger Reserve were an amazing experience, and certainly a worthy part of any Indian wildlife expedition. I would highly recommend.

We travelled to Satpura in early October and stayed at Forsyth for 2 nights. The lodge, its people, and its facilities are truly amazing. Vineet, Animesh, and Saee are great naturalists who know everything about Satpura and the wildlife, and go to any lengths to make sure you get a wonderful wildlife experience at Satpura. The hotel staff team led by Deepanker manages the property nicely, serving you delicious food, keeping everything clean, sanitised, and well-managed. They never deny any of your requests, making sure you have a lovely stay. The rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and lodge surroundings are beautifully done as well. Highly, highly recommend!

This was our third park and stay of our trip, and whilst the lodge itself cannot be faulted, the difference was in the outstanding nature of the naturalists who work there and accompany you into the Park. This was the first time we encountered people who had an in depth knowledge and passion for all aspects of Indian Wildlife and knew how to share it. Our naturalist Ashish was a delight to be with over 4 days and made our stay here.
The rest of the staff, from GM Deep to the waiters, were all excellent, friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and varied, the bungalows spacious and well appointed. The grounds of the lodge abound with wildlife, as does the surrounding farmland - you can quite happily avoid the park and spend a relaxing few hours here instead.
Activities include Jeep drives in the Core zones, night drives in the buffer zone, boat rides and walks. This offers a much more varied stay than in other Parks.
Worth noting there is no WiFi available - you can hotspot off the guides phones if you need it (we had flooding and sick parents at home so really did need access). I would suggest that the Lodge provide in room dongles so guests can access privately in room but not change the feel of the main building.
Thoroughly recommend staying at this delightful lodge.

Our five nights spent here were a terrific finish to a trip which included two other national parks/tiger reserves. And on the last afternoon, thanks to our naturalist Animesh's skills, we were lucky to spend more than an hour with a male leopard. Another highlight was seeing Indian wild dogs for the first time.

The lodge (we loved the Gond art murals) and accommodation is spacious and comfortable, the food varied and tasty ( the lunch cooked by local village ladies was especially memorable), the staff friendly and helpful and the guiding amongst the best we've experienced in India.

A range of activities is offered, including night drives and walks, and we also spent a day out to Pachmarhi hill station - with an excellent meal at a local restaurant we would never have visited on our own - which was well worth the effort. We'd also recommend the full day out in the park.

Satpura itself is just across the river (the lodge is in the buffer zone) and was the quietest of the parks we visited. It's easy to see why visitors return time and again.

Only one small quibble: the picnic breakfasts were a bit idiosyncratic. White bread jam sandwiches?

We visited Satpura Tiger Reserve in Dec 2020 and stayed at the lovely Forsyth Lodge for 3 nights. It was a memorable stay that far exceeded all my expectations. Satpura is a unique park which has brilliantly utilized it's buffer zone for sustainable tourism activities like boat safaris, night safaris, walking safaris and camping. These activities give an immersive experience to nature lovers unlike any other tiger reserve in India. Forsyth Lodge arranged all the above activities for us seamlessly. Walking through a dense jungle and camping on a river bank is an experience I will never forget.

Unlike most other lodges Forsyth is run by knowledgeable, passionate and friendly Naturalists who go out of their way to give you a complete wildlife experience. The hospitality and attention to detail from the naturalists and the staff while taking care of the guests was immaculate. It almost felt like a personalised safari trip to me.

The lodge's property is located in the buffer zone and includes a large area of 44 acres, out of which only 4 acres is used for the lodge itself. The remaining area is left to grow wild and you will see lot of birds and animals right inside the lodge during your stay. I had my first ever sighting of the malabar pied hornbill right in the sit out area of my cottage :-)

Full marks to the Forsyth Lodge for running an eco friendly place with a bunch of friendly and passionate naturalists, who will ensure you leave the place with a better understanding of all the animals who call this lovely place home.

Special shout out to Vineet, Deepankar, Rathik, Karthik and Sai for the wonderful experience.

Highly recommended if you are a genuine nature lover looking for a quite stay away from the overcrowded parks of India!!!!

We received very warm Welcome by entire staff, amazing lemon tea and very tasty Gongura leaf pan (very tasty and local)
From checkin to check out everything was very smooth. Entire property gives a warm feeling and positive vibes. Food is scrumptious, homely and fresh. They served lunch in thali and kept serving according to our need.Their home baked breads were amazing.Staff is very efficient and takes care of all needs. They take proper account of food allergies as well. We got to see spotted deer and peacocks. Very well appointed and clean rooms and washrooms. Special mention is Akhil who made sure that we do not face any issues. His knowledge and passion for forests and its habitat was brilliant. He explained the Satpura jungle and Presence of wild life in and around was exceptional. Karthick Akhil and others make a great team. Chef is a perfectionist and cooks delicious food.
Few things to be considered when you visit Forsyth. Only Jio network works there. Wifi works in common area only. Half a kilometre of access road would test your driving skills specially in Rainy season. SUVs are the best choice. Lodge arranges boat ride and jungle safaris. Thank you so much Akhil for making our stay so memorable. Hope to see you soon.

If you are looking for a comfortable yet adrenaline filled Safari experience, Forysth is the place to be.
I visited here between 8th to 10th January with couple of my friends. Everyone in the staff were so welcoming, courteous and amazing to have conversations with.
The staff don't say no to anything that you request for and make you feel like you are on your own farmhouse. The food is to savour and the beautiful property reminds you of rich Indian culture.
The Naturalists are really knowledgeable and accompany you to almost always (except if you want to have your own time)
I would love to go to this place again if I plan to visit Satpura again.

No words suffice for our stay at the Forsyth Lodge. It is a beautiful property with nature surrounding all around at the same time a luxury and a hospitality that beats five star hotels. The manager and the naturalists are very friendly and cooperative, especially Nikita who was always there to provide any help we needed and also provided us with a beautiful nature walk in the huge property including their kitchen garden which was an amazing experience in itself. The staff is very kind and the chef Krishna is so talented, he can cook any cuisine you want to relish and  the food tastes delectable. We can't wait to come back and haven't stopped recommending it to friends.

This was our second visit to the lodge and it was as fabulous and memorable as the first one. The lodge itself is lovely, comfortable and the utmost care taken of its sanitisation and hygiene. Much appreciated in these difficult times.
The food at Forsyth has got to be some of the best we have ever eaten and their chef, Krishna just amazing.
Big shout out to Deepanker and his band of Merry naturalists. Each of them are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and go above and beyond to make your stay and experiences as memorable as possible.
A must visit and stay. We certainly will be back there again. Very soon.

What a memorable stay we had at @forsythlodge at Satpura National Park.

Not just memories we made some friends for life.

Spacious aesthetically designed clean rooms, Rooms, common area and library adorn lovely Gond art paintings.. We stayed at Machan cottage. We couldn’t make full use of the beautiful Machan beds and sit outs because we were in jungles most of the time. But we did spend some time in the evening to immerse in the sounds of birds.

Food is local, fresh and delicious. We had full thali meals every day including dal batti on the day of Holi. The staff is local and very very welcoming, happy to help with any thing but best is to hear local stories of geography, animals and fresh produce from them.

The property is spread across 44 acres land but only 4 acres used for the functioning of lodge. Rest is wild and hence home to many many varieties of birds including hornbills.

We enjoyed and loved every moment of our stay.

Yes, if it's not raining then the vehicle can reach the lodge through the mud roads but will have to go through some bumpy roads and humps. Very low ground clearance might be an issue. Regards Deepanker Mukherji
