I just checked in today and already I can’t wait to check out. I booked the hotel simply because my friends stayed here and recommended me to stay in the studio. First of all, no lifts available. But I assumed there were lifts so this was me not doing my due diligence. But the room, the room just looks old, tired, and dirty. The bedside cabinets do not close properly, the Aircon is loud and lugging. I already got bitten by mosquitos from being in there for 15 minutes. The sofas are stained and I wouldn’t want to sit in there. The bath tub, I wouldn’t soak in there either. Bed sheets and towels are stained. I regret taking the last minute deal because it’s non refundable. Not a good start to my trip where I just needed somewhere relaxing and not stressful like this
Certainly not a 4 star hotel anymore. The whole hotel needs renovation before it should consider opening operation and be able to welcome guest again. If it’s open to generate cash flow, than the prices need to be cut in half from the current level-it’s just to much for what you get in other hotels. It is inside the rooms and outside the building walls worn out and due for renovation. Missing stones in walls decoration lose , wood needs paint so does everything else. In the room they got a kitchenette but no equipment except two plates, no cutlery, no pot or pan , no tea or coffee -the boxes were empty - after complain they scrambled somewhere some tea bag’s and cheap coffee together- the bath got a Soap spender and a bar of soap but that’s about it - the bedsheets are strained- aircon weak , 1 hour needed to get temperature to acceptable levels- that is 2 star level and so feels the whole hotel. Still a long way to earn and achieve the 4 stars they already claim and charge for. Many things could be improved by not touching to much $. It’s at least double the stars and double the price they deserve right now. The friendly staff is their biggest asset but they can only go as far as the owner enables them.…
Im so sorry , but i didnt enjoy my stay there . The room itself had an old furniture , i could find out a few cracks in the drawer , chair and either the bed . A few electronic stuffs are broken , and out of dated , yhe stoves didnt work at all . It cost 500k per night and i will prefer to choose another place yo stay .
We enjoyed our time at Taum. Our room was clean and the staff was very attentive. You have to go down stairs the access the restaurant or pool which makes it partially non-accessible for those in wheelchairs or power chairs. It’s a long walk from the curb to your room so beware! We would definitely stay again.
I stayed here for 12 nights on B&B basis and I was treated by staff and management alike like a “royal”, nothing was too much trouble for the team. I was allocated a spacious room with king size bed, yes the room would benefit from a lick of paint and change of tiles and unit fronts, but all in all this is just a cosmetic job. The room was cleaned thoroughly daily and my bed sheets were changed every 3 days. No complaints here. Food at the restaurant is tasty, and provides value for money. There are a number of other restaurants in close proximity to the Taum which are just as good, however a little more expensive, this is important if your on a budget. The pool is clean and functional, again requires cosmetic work this doesn’t affect your ability swim or sunbathe. Back to the staff you will be hard done by to find staff as dedicated to making your stay as homely and fun packed as this team. I booked a number of tours “again good value”. The driver Ngurah was an excellent driver (as you have to have your wits about you in Bali). Also he was very knowledgeable and passionate when sharing details regarding his country’s historic buildings and artefacts and the country’s culture. I experienced a family issue whilst there and as such had to cut short my holiday and return home. I was required to secure an emergency flight home the staff team did everything possible to support me in this undertaking. Their support and consideration for my welfare at this time will remain with me forever. Human kindness at its best!! I urge anyone who is a solo traveller or family to experience at least a few nights stay at this hotel. You won’t regret it just so you can experience the ambiance and professionalism of the staff who represent what Bali represents as a whole. I will definitely be returning to this country and Taum Resort in due course and without hesitation. In the meantime I’ll relish in the climate of of the British climate 😩 …
Choose this hotel bcos my friend suggested them. I found this place is homey. But, they said they are green hotel and give us instructions where to put our towel if we didn’t want it to be change with new one. But they still change it anyway no matter i hang it or not. If they can improve this.. it will be great. The room is quite warm and the AC seems to have problem fighting the heat. During the hottest days in Bali, this is not very comfortable
This resort should NOT be your first option. If you are looking for a luxury exotic Bali style hotel, then this place is definitely not for you. This resort is only a 5th or 6th option if all other resorts are fully booked. Main reasons for how bad this place is: - Their rooftop bar closes too early (9pm) - Their swimming pool/lobby bar also closes too early (10:30pm) - Their rooms are FAR from luxury (rooms require immediate remodeling and upkeep) - Their doors don't close properly, so rooms have many ants and insects - Housekeeping doesn't always replace your towels/toiletries - Water supply regularly shuts off for maintenance, so you wont always be able to shower/use the toilet - When water line comes back, your water will be brown and dirty for about a day. In summary, this resort is cheap in price, so you get what you pay for. I am sure other resorts are just as cheap in price and much better quality. Consider staying elsewhere during your stay in Bali.…
I am so happy that we are currently staying here. I am a very skeptical mother and nurse with two asthmatic children and I was so concerned with some of the previous reviews on here. I contacted the resort personally and they assured me. Our flight was delayed 4 hours we turned up at 2am and they were waiting for us. I can not fault this resort. Yes it’s worn around the edges but that’s obviously a good sign that many people before me have enjoyed this place. It is truly an oasis in the middle of chaos! You walk in and are immediately relieved and pleased. It is quiet, calm, child friendly, boutique and the staff are what makes this place! The rooms are very clean and hygienic even though they may need a paint job and some touch up, I know they are clean because my “allergy/asthma” children have not reacted! That to me makes all the Difference. There are multiple small restaurants surrounding Taum that are cheap and wonderful to eat out, it has 2 mini marts right at the door one of which is a small pharmacy it seems, a bar, and a 24 hr medical assistance next door! Guys this hotel may not be the Sheraton or Hilton but this hotel is underestimated and given some really poor reviews for simple not important things. I’m telling you as a mum what’s important and what you want as A mum on holiday is healthy happy kids and parents that is all that matters!! It just so happens the cost is amazing! So good. Thank you for having us over the next 2 weeks Taum. Regards The Vagai family …
A friend and I stayed late Jan/early Feb for 12 nights in a standard studio room. Fantastic hotel, room was clean and spacious, beds were super comfy. Everything is the same as the pics on the website! Staff were all amazing, they all went above and beyond for us, we had breakfast included in our stay and there was a wide range of western and Asian food on the menu - all delicious (especially the pancakes!) Couldn't fault the food in the restaurant/in room dining either. Taum is within walking distance to plenty of shops and bars/restaurants but far enough away from busy streets that it's really quiet and peaceful. Rooftop bar and pool are also great, we really couldn't fault anything at all during our stay, even organising transport to and from the airport was super easy thanks to the staff. We will definitely be returning!…
Our 2nd visit in as many years to Taum, still the best place to stay when you compare value for quality. The rooms are brilliant, cleaned everyday, the pool and restaurants are top notch. I book directly now as they offer better deals than travel agents and still offer a private transfer to and from the airport. Would think of staying anywhere else in Bali, thank you to all the staff at Taum for making our stay and unforgettable experience yet again. We will see you next year!
