Awesome property to stay. Cottages are so well designed and comfortable. Homely food and tasty. Resort stuffs are very helpful. Guided BR hill trek and morning nature walk was awesome experience. So was the tribal performance in the evening.
Wonderful stay.. courteous staff . Great food, clean cottages. Right from booking process till check out, effortless process. Had a calm and relaxing stay with family. You get to stay close to nature.
Uniquely designed cottages aligned with nature. A complete view of nature from the cottage with double-height ceiling glass doors/windows to the balcony and windows on the mezzanine floor. Delicious food. Courteous staff. calm and peaceful place to relax amidst birds chirping throughout the day
One of the best resorts in the area. Family of 6 adults 3 children visited Pros 1. Resort amidst nature 2. Great place for kids to stay and experience nature 3. Food is good. 4. Courteous staff 5. Close to JLR and BR Temple 6. Clean rooms and equipped with hot water, shampoo etc 7. Cottage experience is really good Cons: 1. No petrol pr diesel within 30km radius. So have your vehicle fuel tanks full. 2. Safari is organized by JLR BR Hills only and you need to be the first one in the queue to beat long lines.( We managed to). 3. You might see spiders and small insects in and around your room. So don't creep out.
The rooms were of very poorly maintained and it was not up to the quality for the price you pay. You pay almost the price of a 4 star hotel and the facility is of zero star and very substandard. They promised morning walk and bird watch, but the person to take us didn't appear at all! The food timing is always delayed by 30min to 1hr from the time they announce. However one consolation was the food was good. The whole place is getting worn out and needs maintenance and they should revise their rates downwards to suit the facilities.
Worst nightmare of a resort . We checked in to two cottages on 25-26th September . The cottages are filthy and uncared for . They don't resemble the pics on the internet at all . Walls are stained , there are insects galore everywhere . Lots of lizard dropping and cobwebs too . The sheets are stained and the towels smell . The railings are broken and I don't think these cottages have seen paint or polish in ages . Totally unkempt is the impression. The only saving grace is the excellent food , though simple it was fresh and tasted good . Would I go again or recommend it to anyone -nah
The cottage we stayed in was clean, the bathroom neat and well maintained. Extra towels were furnished on request and there were clean sheets and adequate quilts (it was very cold). The staff were friendly and helpful (many thanks to Basavanna and Krishna-the Naturalist and our guide). The kitchen staff accommodated our many dietary requests and the food was tasty and didn't give us any after-effects. This is not a luxurious resort- the main thing is that this facility was designed to have the least impact on the surrounding environment and supports the work of the parent company in it's outreach to the Soliga community. We were out almost the whole time except for meals and explored the birdlife nearby. The safari at K'gudi located 18km from Gorukana is very nice although we didn't spot many mammals because of the monsoon weather. Bird life abounds and we spotted many species that we are adding to our life list. Be careful of the mud-road approach to the resort during rainy weather and check with the staff beforehand whether you can park in the village across the road. In dry weather, the path is quite navigable. All in all, we had a great stay and will be coming back again.…
Best place to rejuvenate yourself. Awesome cottages and must visit place. Nice staff and support team. Even in hot summer, the place was cold. I must say it’s an ideal place for couples for privacy and ambience. Good place nature enthusiasts.
The location and the property is beautiful..it is a nice weekend getaway from.bangalore with good connectivity. However I found the resort overpriced for the services offered. Room category is like a 2* property.. not well maintained inspite of the layout being beautiful. Food quality is good but spread could be elaborate. Breakfast was below average. The included excursions which was a tribal dance and nature walk.. both were pretty useless and could very well be for free. So 8k per night is too much. Was trying to understand how the pricing works with the services provided.
We stayed at Gorukana for a day in the last week of December 2020 on a family trip. The resort cottages have unique architecture & are well maintained. You can spot Staff is friendly & serves you with a smile. The food they serve is good. We also witnessed a tribal show in the evening with a bonfire. In all a very good place to spend in leisure with the family
