My wife and I recently spent some time here and HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a place where you can relax, have some incredible adventures and eat some of the best food you’ll ever have! The staff on the island are some of the nicest, most accommodating people we have ever met. We stayed here as part of our two week honeymoon in Norway and I wish we would’ve stayed on the island longer. The cabins and island are beyond beautiful and there are no shortage of activists to do. We absolutely plan on visiting again!
Jaw dropping vistas and a stunning cabin built like a tiny house. You truly feel that you are at the end of the world. The cabin is incredibly cozy and built perfectly. Amazing food! The dinners were spectacular. We also went in a kayak trip with our guide, Adrian, who was so nice and very patient. Once in a lifetime place. Wow!
We loved our 3 day stay in a spectacular cabin overlooking the water, which immersed us in nature with all the comforts we needed. We watched an otter fishing and seabirds and boats come and go as well as the northern lights from our cabin. Stunning place! The food was excellent and tasty and we had two great guided trips kayaking and walking up snowy mountains. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. This was a real highlight of our trip to Norway.
Visited as part of Large family group of 17. That it’s possible to deliver consistently great service at such a remote location is impressive. Friendly and enthusiastic guides make fishing and mountain trips to frictionless adventures . Restaurant with great chef with homemade bread and sauces as highlights giving The feeling of a unique culinary experience . Overall a “outside this world» gathering for our family. Improvement points; - Some soft materials to take up sound in new restaurant. More of wonderful sauces !
Yup, this property has the wow factor for sure - cool slick contemporary cabins perched at the waters edge with endless views over the North Sea. Cabins come complete with mini kitchen allowing you to make the basics. Beds are comfortable and the linens and pillows of good quality (something important to me). The main cabin is the reception and restaurant where excellent food is prepared and the young chef is creating quite a name for himself indeed - all our meals were top notch! I recommend staying here for meals since its slim pickings to find something else around unless you are preparing something in your cabin. Trust me though, you won't want to miss out on eating here. If you do stay for lunch and/or dinner, be sure to make a reservation. There is a cute sauna (free to use) as well as a small jacuzzi (hot tub) but its not free (500 kr.) and needs to be booked as well. The resort offers activities as well that you can book including a sea-eagle boat safari. It was great fun and there are plenty of birds to spot. An amazing, (and unique) place to spend a couple of days.…
Amazing atmosphere, food and activities! What an amazing destination for business. Excellent meals, wines, cabins, main house, ...! We did kayaking, Mountain climbing, Fisihing. We also experienced the Nortern Light at the evening of arrival. Unforgettable trip. Highly recommendable!
From pictures it’s no surprise that nature and cabins lived up to expectations. But that we,at such a remote location, should experience hospitality and food worthy top urban boutique hotels and restaurants was way above expectations. Thanks to all the staff for living the brand, and especially to the kitchen for wonderful local gastro experiences!
I had the great pleasure to finally come to Mannshausen. It has been a long dream of mine. We arrived Sunday night after a quick trip with the boat from Bodø. Stian and Børge welcomed us at the dock. We went straight to the dinner table. And what a start!! We enjoyed an amazing 3 course dinner from the young talented (but experienced) chef with background from prestigious Nordic Cuisine restaurants like 108 in Copenhagen. I was totally blown away about the quality of the food and the flavours of the region. Each course was very nicely presented and very innovative. I love that they use the local ingredients from their own garden, the fjord and the forests nearby. This meal was super and at the level of any star restaurant I have been to. The difference is that at Mannshausen you will taste the flavour of natural soil from this pristine island. We enjoyed the meal at the large windows in the restaurant. We had a great view to the kitchen as well the northern light at the sky outside the windows. I stayed in the cabin Frans Josef Land, took a dip in the ocean at the beach next to it, kayaking, climbed the Nordskot traverse and enjoy even more delicious food & wine. Thank you very much. I will be back soon!…
We really loved this place, it is something unique and so beautiful. The cabin was so nice and we loved the view. It is truly a dream place. It is quity costy but it is worth to go. Staff was also very nice. Breakfast was good, although they didnt have bread rolls or croissants. BUT of course if you pay almsot 500 USD per night you can expect it is 110% perfect, and here we experience few small CONs: - We had no hairdryer in our cabin - There is no wi-fi in the cabins, only at main house. Peace and nature is more important, yes, but sometimes you like to share this beautiful scenery with some friends. - Sauna and hot tubs were closed, due to Corona. I know nowadays you can excuse everything with simple sentence: "It is because of Corona". The owners said they cant control who use when the sauna and the risk of infection because of this would be high. But the truth is you got 7 cabins on whole island. If you allow each cabin to reserve the sauna for 1 hour and f.e. leave 15min space in between to desinfect, than it is possible to run the sauna. The sauna is small, even somebody else wants to enter, the people inside can say to stay out, they reserved. So we dont believe every excuse of Corona. Specially when it comes to breakfast and we are all sitting close to each other in the 3 tables that are there in the small restaurant.…
We stayed here for 2 night in july. Everything from communication with the staff before we arrived until we got picked up by the small boat in Nordskot was perfect. The cabins are amazing, with stunning view. They also have a kitchen and refrigerator so you can cook your own food. The breakfast and food was out of this world, especially the homemade bread and fresh seafood. The staff was so friendly and nice and made us feel at home. You can rent kayak or canoe form the island, with or without guide. You can also rent guide to go "nordskott traversen" or other mountains nearby which is an awesome mountain range on the mainland. If you haven't been here, go visit manshausen. We will definitely come again.
