How lovely to stay in chambre 'le roy', where the king of France would overnight when traveling to burgundy in the 18th century! This chateaux retains its grounds, charm, moat, Norman turret, and many rooms which have been updated to provide a comfortable 21st century vacation. Dinners were excellent, service was ample, and the room was comfortably appointed with canopied...

We stayed at the Chateau May 12 and 13 and while had a little rain food the hotel/grounds/food the best of our 6 day trip. This is a beautifully restored Chateau that is a member of the Gand Hotels of France and reserves to be. The cost was less than a nice hotel in Paris but worth twice as much...

Great Hotel in Burgundy. Highly recommended. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but what do you expect from a medieval castle!? Gives it a nice flair. They are nice, clean and cozy. The food (dinner and breakfast) were great, as was the service. We payed 240€ fro the room with dinner and breakfast which was a great deal. Only...

I should start out by saying that I am tempted to give this a 4 star review but by doing so I think it would be unfair on my overall experience of the place. I will explain my reasons shortly. On the absolute plus side (as you will glean from the other reviews here) this hotel is a boutique and...

Everything was perfect! The team is very nice and welcoming. The room was spacious and confortable, we loved all the products from Annick Goutal. The park is amazing. You can also have a nice walk in the forest by opening a gate behind the castle. You can also walk through the vegetable garden or relax on the garden chair nearby...

We drove up to a closed gate surrounding this castle and could not figure how to get in. Finally we noticed a button under a speaker and pushed it. The gate opened and we began a journey into the beautiful French past. There was a stream, a lake, livestock, a beautiful garden and more. The owner checked us in and...

A beautiful place - great architecture, location, a true beauty spot. A lovely very spacious room whose decoration stays true to the place. Nice size bathroom. A 5 star experience? Almost but not quite there. Attention to detail is lacking. Bathroom shower curtain soiled at the bottom edges. Water running from the shower everywhere despite the flannels either side of...

Everything about our recent stay was excellent. Nice large room with a well equipped bathroom ( bath, and separate shower). Excellent food, an indoor swimming pool, lovely grounds, peaceful surroundings- all have been mentioned previously. But the best aspect was the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone we encountered- particularly Madame ( who I think is the owner) who helped us...

I had the pleasure of staying at Chateau de Vault-de-Lugny during my time in that part of France. Everyone was so nice. I was terribly sick from my pregnancy, and the chef created anything that I needed, so that I could still have food, while my sister delighted in all things decadent! She 'mmmm'd' her way through every single bite-...

This is our fifth or sixth stay here, and it just gets better and better--and since it starts with perfection, that's pretty hard. This is our favorite place in the world to stay. It is a small hotel with large rooms, friendly and professional staff, an outstanding restaurant, a huge expanse of lawn with plenty of chaises, and hands-on owners....
