We went for a one night stay and were pleasantly surprised to find the positive reviews are all true. Rooms are spacious, kitchen and dishes are a nice plus and the decor was really pretty and added to the beauty of the property. View is gorgeous, location was quiet and the room and pool are very clean and well maintained. We stayed during Covid and social distancing guidelines were strictly enforced and followed by other guests. Staff was friendly and polite.
My adult family of four stayed at the lodge for one night, visiting Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. The lodge is nice and quaint - well kept with a beautiful view of the mountains. They have a pool, spa (closed), and fire pit, but operating during COVID has set limits on the amenities. Due to COVID, the hotel staff leaves the lodge unattended after 9pm. As such, the pool area is closed at 9pm, and fire pit is doused with water. But despite the lack of fire, we enjoyed our night around the dark firepit and stargazed. Note, breakfast is also not served at this time (though there's a McDonald's and Jive Cafe a short drive away). The room itself has a mini kitchen and a little patio with Adirondack chairs. The beds were soft and super comfortable! Our only complaint is that the water in our bathroom was NASTY. The mini kitchen sink had normal, filtered water; but both the shower and bathroom sink had the most foul smelling (and tasting) water. We had to use the kitchen sink/bottled water to brush our teeth, etc. and showering was just.... rough. Not sure if this is normal or it was just our room and a filter was broken, but something needs fixing. Outside of the water and the current lack of full amenities (due to COVID, and as such, not their fault), I would recommend this place over the neighboring Best Western and Holiday Inn Express, for a quaint hotel experience with character.…
Very nice view, clean, comfortable rooms and free breakfast. The staff was very friendly and they had several brochures for the many activities available in the area. They have a pool and hot tub as well as a small play area for children. Rooms have a coffeemaker, stove, microwave and fridge.
We recently returned from an amazing wedding weekend at The August Lodge. Our wedding was off-site, but we used The August Lodge as our home base for our family of 25. The weekend was absolutely perfect, in large part because of The August Lodge. The views are amazing, the rooms are large and very clean and the staff is warm and friendly. My family and I loved it so very much we are already talking about re-enacting the weekend again next year. The kids (age 10 to 17) were busy exploring and playing tether ball. We enjoyed a great campfire with s'mores on an unseasonably cold first night. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest in the group had a wonderful time. Shout out to Katie who helped me block out all of the rooms and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even going so far as to make some amazing recommendations. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!!…
Nice clean lodge down the street from Dreams Park. The view from the room was just breathtaking. The morning coffee sitting on the Adirondack chairs by the breakfast room was my favorite part, ...or maybe the jacuzzi, or maybe the pool.. I guess I can't decide!
the breakfast was on the weak side, the wifi was good, the staff was accommodating. I would not call it a destination by any means, sort of in the middle of nowhere, but there's nothing wrong with it - stay here without a second thought if your plans take you to the area
Our team stayed here during our week at Cooperstown Dreams Park. We reserved the Lodge several months in advance. Convenient, only one mile to the park. Nice accommodations. Hung out every night by the fire pit. Grills, swimming pool, playground, and plenty of room for whiffle ball. Coffee, juice, cereal, muffins, fruit are complimentary in the mornings. About five miles from downtown Cooperstown and the Hall of Fame. Only complaint is that the pool/hot tub closes at sunset - would be nice if it stayed open later for days when you have late games.
Skip the chain hotels! As 2 older couples, we had no idea where to stay when planning our dream vacation to Cooperstown and are so happy to have found the August Lodge! The August Lodge is quant, spotless, staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious with a complete little kitchen, great for couples or those with young families! Kids can play outside (they have a little playground and plenty of space for them to let off steam) and adults can enjoy the serenity of the country side from the moment you pull in and from your balcony! Coffee is available 24 hrs and a light breakfast is offered to guests to start your day! It’s located off the beaten track but easy to find, and is close to anything you want to do in Cooperstown and the surrounding areas. For as much as we loved Cooperstown, the August Lodge is definitely part of the wonderful memories we made there, we just loved it that much! …
Beautiful lodge with gorgeous surroundings. We went in the early fall when it is presumably quieter than in the summer. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The little kitchenette is perfect if you are looking to make some of your own meals. The lodge is less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Cooperstown and many other local attractions and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.
Ever feel so overwhelmed that you wanted to just go somewhere and put life on pause? The August Lodge, is where you should find yourself. Walking in you feel the coziness and fun energy with the beautiful artwork on all the rooms. Each room is unique where you can either have a jester theme (my favorite) or a breathtaking Arizona sunset in the desert. Rip that tie off and put that bathrobe on and head on over to the spa facility for an organic hot stone (You WILL NOT regret it). If you are looking to oversee a beautiful sunset with a loved one, pour yourself a full body red and relax on the deck. This place is something out of a fairytale and is a staple for anyone who feels the need to escape.
