Unclean rooms—found a dirty washcloth on the shower curtain rod Unreliable shuttle service to airport (they say it runs every 15 mins but it does not…nearly missed my flight) Front desk attendants completely unhelpful Could hear flushing toilets all evening Nothing good to say
Fabulous stay! We stayed here to visit family in the Syracuse area. The staff were excellent! We brought pizza for lunch with 3 of our small Grandkids and the staff helped us set up tables and provided cups, plates and napkins. We used the pool with the kids and it was great fun. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very courteous and helpful! All of the people who came for breakfast were saying the same thing; great staff nice hotel. It’s decor is a little older but clean and well kept. No problems at all! We will definitely use this hotel again!
Stayed for one night, as my Delta flight was cancelled at the last minute. Long story short, after a long day of travelling and delays and rude ticket agents, the shuttle driver was probably the nicest person I dealt with all day. I forget his name, but he's an older gentleman, and gave me a much needed laugh on the ride from the airport to the hotel. Not being from the area, I decided to ask the front desk for suggestions for places to go get some food and a drink and decided on Haffners. So I asked if the shuttle could take me to the restaurant and was told 'No, it only goes to the airport and back, but I have the number of a cab if you want one.' No thanks, so I decided to Uber there and back, and it cost me more for the Uber than it did for my entire meal! Almost $30 for an Uber that the airport hotel's shuttle should have been able to take me to (it was approx 1.4 miles one way to the restaurant). If you have a shuttle that just took me from the airport to the hotel, why can't the same shuttle take me to a local restaurant at dinner time? It makes no logical sense, so if you want to stay cooped up in your room all night, choose this place. I have never heard of a hotel actually owning and using a shuttle, but not using the shuttle to go to local places, and I will never be staying at this place again because a $30 Uber for a $23 meal is not what I had planned on when I was hungry as a horse from travelling and getting delayed all day. Change your shuttle policy to something logical for travellers not from the area.…
I had a HORRIBLE experience previously at Crowne TRASHCAN! I previously worked at Holiday Inn Express, and trust their staff explicitly. Conrad did me a HUGE favor when I literally had no place to go. Esther, Ella, Ed, James, and the rest of the staff provided a SAFE, COMFORTABLE, RELAXING stay. Transportation was NEARY an issue. I will be sure to stay here again on my next and future visit[s] to the Salt City!
Having stayed at a few other Holiday Inn Express (HIE) hotels before, I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed with this location. The driveway entrance to this HIE is shared with the neighboring Candlewood Suites from the main road (South Bay Road). Immediately walking into the lobby, I felt that the hotel was outdated. While all staff members I encountered were very nice and acommodating, the hotel itself definitely needs an upgrade. The single elevator was quite scuffed up and seemed very old, as did the hallways with very weathered/dirty carpet throughout. The rooms were nice enough. Small things like some ripped wallpaper or a stained farbic bench weren't too much of an issue given the rest of the room was fine. Temperature control was adequate, shower pressure was fine, TV had a lot of channels available and the rooms had a mini fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board and a keurig machine. The pool seemed clean. The fitness center, although small (one elliptical, one treadmill, free weights) was clean, but missing cups for the water cooler. The continental breakfast was what would expect from a 2.5-3 star hotel: coffee, cereals, bagels, fruit, yogurt and some hot items llike eggs. Again, the staff were great, but the hotel definitely needs some TLC. I would definitely consider other hotels in the area that area similarly priced. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn in Liverpool (about 10 mins away from this HIE) which is lovely but did not have availability at that time.…
On our second weekend to the State Fair in Syracuse, we decided to stay here. This was straight up rt 81 and easy to get on and off the expressway. The first night we checked in and went swimming prior to our Pitbull concert. The pool was nice and relaxing. The pool was bigger than some of the other area small motels which made it nice for swimming. There was a workout room next door that we didn't use but looked decent. We went to the show and drove back afterwards. After a long show, it was a nice drive and easy to find in the dark. Our room was huge with a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, TV, decent size fridge and was very quiet for an end room. Access to ice machine was good and we were right next to it and the elevator. Breakfast in the morning had a lot of choices with cereals, yogurt, coffee, juice, eggs, danish, muffins, toast, biscuits and gravy & fruit. They kept in nicely stocked which was good with a couple of teenage sports teams in the building. The lobby area was nice and spacious for gathering with friends and they had a small conference room. Parking was the only real challenge as shares a parking lot with the Campus World. Esp hard after getting back late after concert. Despite that, everything else about this place was nice and being on of the few places with a good pool, I will most likely stay here again if do the fair thing next year.…
Friendly front desk staff when I checked in. The room was a suite for four (king bed and pull out sofa). We had three people. The sofa was not easy to wrangle, but we managed. The mattress was thin and terrible. In the closet we found two sheets wadded up (not folded) with one pillow. The sheets smelled okay but didn't really fit the mattress. There was no blanket, just a paper thin nylon throw that might have been twin sized. I called the front desk to ask for a mattress pad and another pillow. Was told the hotel did not use mattress pads (we found one on the king size bed) but another pillow would be sent up. No one was sent to make up the bed and the pillow never arrived--I paid for a room that slept four! Slept terribly due to terrible sofa bed but mainly because of so many late arriving guests talking loudly in the hallways and allowing doors to slam. Why don't hotels install soft-close doors? Can't comment on the breakfast because I had to leave before it was served. At least the airport shuttle left on time. I won't return.…
After a very long day I arrived at Syracuse Airport at nearly 11 pm. I called the Holiday Inn for their shuttle and the van arrived less than 10 minutes later. The driver was very friendly and courteous. The front desk clerk was professional and efficient. My room was larger than expected and very clean. I would stay here again.
The staff is very rude & dishonest & rooms are not that clean either smoke alarms comes on in the middle of the night & no one from the front desk don’t even call to see if the customer ok they just make they’re own Assumption MY WIFE & I WILL NEVER BOOK ANOTHER ROOM THERE EVER AGAIN!!!!!
James at the front desk is the best and was just so helpful to me and my daughter. My Daughter was driving to an internship in upstate New York and needed a place to stay Saturday May 30, 2020. During these crazy times I was trying to help find a hotel where she could spend the night. I called this hotel and got James at the front desk (unlike other chains where you only speak with a phone center). James was so helpful and put me at ease that he had a room for her and even made the reservation himself without sending my call to a reservation call center. He then greeted my daughter warmly when she arrived and made her feel very comfortable. I really cannot say enough about James. As some cities were having a very difficult night I was assured that my daughter was safe in the hotel with a very welcoming front desk. Oh yes she said the room was clean and breakfast in the morning was good. If you stay here I hope you get to meet James and say hello from me.…
