My partner & I chose Nukubati Private Island for our honeymoon based on the resort being only one of 15 or so hotels in the world to have 10 years straight of 5 star TripAdvisor reviews.

It certainly lived up to our expectation with the resort owners, Jenny & Peter welcoming us

We arrived at Labasa airport to be greeted by the friendly Nukubati Island driver who drove us about an hour through the jungle to the jetty. We were then met by Rucie, our friendly boat captain who took us on the short trip over to the island. On arrival we were greeted with a

Where do we start? Everything about this holiday was just perfect for us.

Let's start with getting to the island....We landed at Labasa airport during a torrential downpour but thankfully the airport staff had plenty of umbrellas and they were very good at getting all the lugga

This was our first time in Fiji, and we were hoping to stay at a place with good food, beautiful beach, and somewhat serene so that we can destress after a long process of wedding planning. This place proved to be that and so much more for us!

We went to Nukubati for our belayed Honeymoon. Found a Groupon deal but made contact with the hotel and they offered directly the same deal. Communication before the trip was excellent, at arrival we got picked up as communicated and when we arrived on the island we thought it is

Why hasn’t there been a review of this accomodation since 2017?
I believe the resort was closed for six months for restorations & has since re-opened

Why hasn’t there been a review of this accomodation since 2017?
There have been recent reviews, but not in English. TA puts non English reviews in a foreign language section Nukubati does not solicit reviews from guests, unlike most hotels and resorts, who send out multiple emails to past guests asking for them to review. Hence after being on TA since TA’s inception in 2005, Nukubati has relatively few reviews. However this did not prevent Nukubati being one of only 16 hotels in the world (out of the 1.1M hotels on TA) to be named in TA’s Hall of Fame. So if you are considering booking a holiday at Nukubati, you can be assured you won’t be disappointed. Just read the reviews.

Do the beach front rooms actually have a view of the beach from the deck or is it behind trees? Thanks
Yes! Each burre has a porch that faces the ocean...you can see the ocean from your room, no problem and step outside, take 15 steps and put your toes in the ocean!

Want to find out info about the beach, is it a beach you just walk into and swim, not like deep water, not a good swimmer, more like paddle around or swim in not deep water. Since it is so small, how does eating work, everyone eats at the same time or you eat when you want, I take it that its only 1 place to eat, anything else you have to tell me would be helpful to make me decide to go there, do they have a tour desk to do other things> Thanks Katie
Hi We stayed at Nukubati for our wedding and honeymoon in 2009. The waters edge is shallow and you just walk in. It is not deep, I was a non swimmer before arriving at Nukubati but conquered my fears there and ended up enjoying some snorkelling which I thoroughly enjoyed and never felt out of my depth. You can eat your meals where and when you want, so there are no set times at all. I would add that meeting other guests at night from all over the world in the pavilion was a great experience and the perfect way to start your evening. There are various activities such as diving, Sandbar picnic (which is an absolute must in my opinion). Sailing, Medicine walks with a member of staff (fascinating). You just have to tell the staff what you want do do and they will make it happen.Hope this helps. :)

The resort arranges your transportation from the airport on the mainland. It consists of a car and then a small boat to go a very short distance to the island. You can easily see the island from the mainland when you arrive at the pier.

"The Honeymoon suites are quiet and at the end of the beach. Perfect."
"Honeymoon Bure is stunning, however both are excellent. Highly recommend a day on the water!!"
"All bures are truly ocean front, with your own private beach piece due to how they have landscaped the area."
"All bures have beach view. The bure closest to the restaurant is the only one where you would have a higher chance of connecting to wifi."
"If you want some possible in room wifi stay in a bure near the pavilion."
