I booked Crowwood hotel last minute and i wasn’t disappointed at all. I booked two rooms at a great price, The hotel DM asking if I would like double or twin rooms (I required one of each). Due to being so well priced I wasn’t sure what to expect. Staff were great and friendly very helpful, rooms were very nice clean and big We went for dinner and ordered off the Indian menu service and food were outstanding, one of the best curries I’ve had in a long time!

Food was nice and and as expected. The meal felt almost rushed as our mains came out immediately after our starters were cleared. We were then abruptly asked for the table back when finishing our drinks and asked to sit in the lounge area, where there was no seats. Not great as my elderly aunt was left to sit on a small window sill. It was clear the restaurant had overbooked as large groups started to gather and were kept waiting at reception. As this meal was for a special occasion, we did leave feeling quite disappointed with the service. On another note, the restaurant are in desperate need of new menus, the ones handed to us were tatty and food stained - very off putting. Have been to Alba many times but wouldn't hurry back after this occasion.

Well, what can I say. What a difference new owners have made. Very very good indeed. Spotless, newly refurbished rooms and bathrooms, towels & soaps etc, tea/coffee making all supplied, re-carpeted throughout, massive refurbishment of restaurant/bar area, terrific British/Indian continent menu and food was excellent. Staff efficient and friendly. Couldn't fault the place. Two nights there and will definitely go back. Great location for travel to anywhere from central Scotland.

**THIS REVIEW IS JUST FOR THE RESTAURANT** Went here for Christmas dinner 2021, Hanlon + Snell family of 10, the meal was absolutely disgusting. Most of the food was inedible, steak was being compared to an old leather shoe and was that tough when we tried to cut it the horrid watery gravy splattered all over brand new Designer jumper and shoes, who is compensating for that? Half the Christmas dinners had no trimmings, no yorkie puddings, barley any veg. Kids meals were just as appalling the mac and cheese was inedible it has some kind of spicy sauce on it for a kids meal??? We were also charged £55 for a boy who turned 13 LAST MONTH but he then went on to order every single course from the kids menu yet we were still charged full adult price, none the less the £55 chicken burger that said 14 year old ordered was that pink a good vet could get it breathing, also clearly ined. The kids were literally crying with the absolute horror of the night. Every single person left hungry who ate with us, all having to go and buy more food, just a shambles. The booking was for 2:30-4:30, it took 40 minutes for the first set of drinks to come, waited over an hour for the starter, we were at 4:15 and still waiting on the mains and this was a 3 course meal. Service was absolutely shocking and it was clearly overbooked. One of the most absolutely SHOCKING things of the night was my mother in law Denise Bradley, who doesn’t drink alcohol asked for a cup of coffee, which is all she drinks only to be told there was none and she couldn’t get one, they then went the hotel to get coffee and it took over an hour. WE SPENT OVER £700 IN THIS PLACE ON CHRISTMAS DAY AND OUR CHRISTMAS WAS ABSOLUTELY RUINED. We could've went to the Morrisons cafe and got a better Christmas dinner than the absolute crap served to us. We have been to the restaurant 3 times since trying to complain and have been fobbed off time after time with excuse after excuse. No one will speak to us, is there no management in the place? Poor show is the absolute least I can say, next time I go (not to spend another penny in the place only to complain about this situation) I hope the situation will be rectified correctly.

Visited on Friday night 10th Decefor Christmas party night. Have never been before. Booked 2 rooms for 5 of us . Rooms were spotless, cosy, lovely thick duvets and extra pillows ( nice touch) . Shower was great. Party night was a great , fun night. Meal was good. Danced till the wee small hours. Had great fun with the staff and a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. If you're looking for a reasonably priced stay and good food I highly recommend.
